File Transfer Problem

    File Transfer Problem

    I have a 8GB M6. When I try to transfer a 4GB file onto the player it always says the drive is full when its clearly not true as there is 7GB remaining...

    If I'm right, the file system used is FAT which I think doesn't support so big files. If you wish to transport that file, you should try compressing it with zip or rar into multiple parts.

    is there a way to format if to ntfs?

    Fat is only usable up to 2GB so it will be fat32 which should be ok. Can't format flash memory to NTFS. Not sure what the problem is, I wonder how you would go with a 2GB or 3GB file or if there is a single file size limit of some sort.

    EDT: Just a thought, your 8GB is likely 2x4GB chips and there may be an issue with splitting the file over 2 chips.

    uhhh, I did that with my flash memory stick (and it is working fine)

    but player itself could not open after that, it won't start with ntfs maybe?
