I have an FM Transmitter from an older MP3 player. It has it's basic functions. This particular FM Transmitter can be run on batteries. But it can also be plugged directly into the car's power source through the cigarette lighter/adapter.
The FM Transmitter also has a mini-USB port on its body. Am I safe to plug my Meizu into the mini-USB using the USB cable to charge the Meizu? How do I know if the voltages are correct? (There is no detailed information on the box that I got it in).

My userstanding is that the voltage to USB is standard (otherwise it couldn't be referred to as USB even though the plug might look like one) so you should have no worries.
If anyone is looking for one of these, try: http://www.ledshoppe.com/Product/com/CA4002.htm

Yes... there's no problem using it. Standard voltage for USB devices: 5 volts

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI have been wondering if there is multiple ways to get m6 to play through car stereos. Do I have to buy some universal usb FM transmitter or is there another options?
From amazon.com:
"The sound coming of this unit is INCREDIBLE!!! It realy sounds good in car stereo systems where you can plug the unit in via an audio-to-audio cable!"
What kind of cable is this?
edit: And it seems that my car radio doesn't have any line-insLast edited by qscq; 12-08-2006 at 03:13 PM.

As I understand it there are three options:
1. Cassette adaptor. This is the original method and takes the audio output from a DAP and feeds it through the head of a cassette unit. I've not managed to find an adaptor for the USB plug though.
2. Audio input. This version replied upon your car stereo having audio input facilities - many don't. Here you need a lead from your headphone to the audio imput port on the car stereo. Because there are several different input types for car stereos your adaptor may require a voltage changer to take the signal up/down from the M6 original to what the car stereo needs.
3. FM transmitter. This is the easiest solution as it needs no wiring to the car stereo. There are a couple of types but the most common is a 12V lead that takes the signal from the headphone port on the M6 and then sends it as a radio signal to the car stereo. You then just tune the stereo into your M6 radio frequency and voila!. Onr thing to bear in mind with this option, is that the signal strength from these units has to stay low. This often has the effect of you needing to turn the radio up quite a lot when tuned in to the M6. Don't forget to tunr it down again before you tune to another radio station!
