Identify and/or upgrade M6SP

How does one find out what version one has? I have had this unit for 6months or so and would like to see if there is an upgrade. I am having trouble understanding just how this thing works. I have the manual but I guess that my age just keeps me from understanding it better.

I take it you are referring to firmware. If you go Menu->Settings->About you can find what version firmware is currently on your player. The most recent version is 2.004.3 you can find both Chinese versions and a link to the English version HERE along with install instrutions. Us the S2.004.3 for your SP version player.

madman, I'm at a loss. Where do I find the Menu->Settings->About? I've looked around but I don't see the choices. I am running XP pro. Do I look at the main meizu website, or can I find it in the windows explorer files? I am sorry for the questions but I lack many of the skills to do all these thing.

Thanks, I found it and I have version S 1.010. How can I upgrade? I went to the link and it said to unzip firmware files (M6.ebm and resource.bin) Where are these files and how do I get them onto my computer?

I have been mumbling along and now I have a message on my screen that says "No Resource! Please upgrade resource again! What does this mean? I am not the sharpest tool in the shed and am having nothing but trouble now. All my music is gone and the unit won't display anything but the above notice. Is there anywhere that I can getr a step-by-step instruction to make this all work out. I get referred to all different sites, they help but it is very hard to understand just what to do next. I don't speak computereze. I know there must be someone that can explain the process to me in plain english. I just don't understand the jargon. Please help. I think that I have the updated firmware on my PC but I am not having any success getting it to my M6. I got one message that said it was formatting. I have no idea where that came from but ever since, nothing else works, had a white screen for a while, unplugged and plugged back in and now just a white bar across the top. Does any of this make sense? I am not even sure that this is the proper place to post this cry for help, I sure hope that it is.

How much time does it take to install, and is there any indication on the M6 that anything is happening? It seems like each time I go to the settings ect it still shows that I have the older version. When I look in my computer and find the removable disk has the S2003.2_Meizu_En file in it and when I open that file is has the M6.DBN and resource.bin files it it as well. Does this seem to be correct? Thank you so much for your help. I forgot to add, when do you know when to disconnect the M6 from the USB port, and how do you know if the files are all downloaded?

that "S2003.2_Meizu_en" file you have on the player is a .rar file! You have to extract the M6.EBN file first to the player and then turn it off and on. Then extract the "resource.bin" to the player and turn it off and on again. You should see when it's installing because it says"Upgrading Software please wait" or something like that...
sorry for my english
