But this "new" version of the battery pack, have support for OTG, It's just the FW in the miniplayer that dosn't got support for OTG yet? So I don't have to buy a "new" battery pack to get support for OTG later..
And as "fores" wrothe.. will I be able to playback things directly from the device I have connected or just "pull" the data? If it's just for pulling data i'm not sure i would have bought it. =/

Clearly, OTG support can be enabled for the meizu's built in USB port. If they write a firmware to ONLY recognise the USB port (for OTG) on the external battery case.... that'd be forced marketing imo.
Current Rigs:
8GB iAudio 7 > Not in use
4GB + 32GB iAudio D2 > Alessandro MS-Pro
Sony MZ-NH1 > Headroom Total Bithead > Grado Labs PS-1
2GB Meizu M6 T1 > Not in use
8GB iPod Touch 2G > Shure SE530

Im sure they will release OTG. but Maybe in a special firmware maybe taking away something so they can fit OTG. you never know

So has anybody pulled one of those apart yet?
If I had one it would have been taken to pieces and (hopefully) re-assembled many times =D
When/If I do get one I'll put any circuits and pinouts online for anyone who wants to build their own... you might have to wait a while though.~audiofish~

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWhat you have to bare in mind is that many devices require power from the USB port, especially some external laptop-harddrive enclosures and USB pen drives - which are powered ONLY by the USB port. With this in mind the USB port spec requires 500mA of 5V power. Under normal operation the port on the M6 doesnt have to provide ANY power, as the device acts as a slave, powered by the computer, recharged by the computer, etc.etc.
Because of these additional requirements for decent USB OTG (On-The-Go, Repeatedly & incorrectly referred to as USB host in this forum) support, it is quite possible that there is a technical NECESSITY for the additional power provided by the battery pack.
Hope this helps explain

sorry to bring up a old post , but does the usb port on the battery pack supply power , can i charge other devices , ( i know its for otg support but if it dosnt supply power there would be no need for the external batter pack and you could just use a pinout map and wire up your own cable ) , so if someone plugs a device that charges via usb into the port and switched the button on wil it charge??? , thanks

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsB-W-D is correct as this was stated when the Battery Pack USB-OTG was first released. I think Meizu is having trouble getting the transfer speeds fast enough, last I heard it was slower than USB 1 speed and Meizu was not happy in releasing USB-OTG at such slow speeds as it would not make the customers happy.
As it provides power I am sure it can recharge or power what ever you plug into it. The cost of the battery pack is not much and would be worth getting once USB-OTG becomes available in firmware.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsTested this on my Ipod Nano, Telcast T-29 and Simens S88 handphone.
With their respective USB cables.
All the above shows charging: as well as my M6.
I think it can charge any device with USB charging connection.
Got this Emergency Charger in an MO,
Best battery charger I have thus far.
cost wise and device wise.
PS: didn't fully charge, so can't tell if battery current can last how long.Last edited by Richy; 06-23-2007 at 05:55 AM.

Ok guys this is big! You can plug whatever you want directly to the M6 miniplayer once the firmware is out! From the pictures supplied by kh1234567890 (thanks by the way). You can see that the 4 wires are connected directly to the USB leading to the miniplayer. The resistor and the regulater are for regulating the current and voltage.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHas anyone extensively used the battery pack? I just took mine on a trip overseas, and could not figure out how to use it.
I tried all the different combinations:
Meizu on - 4.7 v.
Meizu on - 4.3 v.
Meizu off - 4.7 v.
Meizu off - 4.7 v.
When the Meizu was in the "off" position, sometimes, I would get notification that the battery was "fully charged," only to turn it on and see that it had no charge at all.
Other times the screen would just turn white. Sometimes, when I was using the Meizu ("on"), the small battery icon would be cyclically increasing as if to tell me that it was charging. It would seem to last a bit longer than normal, but then say "low battery" and shut off.
ONE time I checked the M6 and found that it was fully charged from being completely empty...however, I could not recreate that effect.
Can someone help?
