hehe i had the same problem at first

The following things might help you out further getting the most out of your Miniplayer:

Easy fast scroll: instead of sliding your thumb up and down over the touchstrip to scroll through files try holding the touchstrip between the centre and up(or down, depending on wether youre scrolling up or down) button. Thats Under(or above) the middle of the touchstrip but bot at the ends.
    Say 75% on each end.
This will make the player scroll automatically through your lists

Tapping Access: instead of pushing the play button to access a menu or play a file try tapping the middle of the touchstrip. You will see this does the same.

A-Z/Z-A scrolling: Once you scrolled down your list of files and reach the end(at say Z) you can easely jump back to the top(A) by tapping the enter button once. The same goes for going from A to Z, in that case of course tap the top ofthe button(the menu button)

Touchstrip calibrate: somtimes your touchstrip will act screwy. To solve this press the play button while playing a music file. A calibration screen will pop up. Test the touchstrip by sliding your finger over it. If correct there should be a green square lighting up. Press the play button again to Calibrate the touchstrip and get back to your playing song.

Hard Restart: If your player gets stuck and you cant turn it off try pressing the play button for about 30 seconds. This will reset the player similar to restarting your computer. This does not delete any settings or files

Format: If your player gets really stuck and not even a hard reset will work try formatting your player. You can do this by turning on the player and keep the powrbutton pressed. At the same time press and hold the FF(forward) button. After about 30 deconds the player will show a green-yellowish screen telling you its formatting.
Formatting your player will result in the loss of all your files on the player!
However, it will make it functional again when your player is totally stuck.

To solve this press the play button while playing a music file.
I think doing this would simply pause the song? Please revise.

ooo it's the button at the bottom! I made the mistake of thinking the top is a play/pause button and thus pressing the "play" button would pause a song. Thanks.

Pressing play while a song plays DOES pause the song, I have to do this about 20 times a day at work. Pressing enter changes to the song cursor, and pressing it again shows the song info. This is T1.010, though I don't know why it'd be different in other firmware updates, since as long as I've been alive, anything without a dedicated pause button uses the play button to pause.

Also, the bottom "button" is the hold switch.

hmm ok.... we might have some confusion caused by me overthe play-button

in my text the play-button was the lower button of the touch strip. I called this the play button as this is the button I press to get a song or video to play.
The top button i called the power/pauze button as its the buton i press to power on the player and to pauze a video or song.

As you play a file by pressing the lower button of the touch strip this was the play button for me!

My apologies for any mixups i might have caused!

Heh.. I guess so! I've never used enter to start playing.. and I'm not sure if it does start playing, or just goes into the cursor view and then into the data view. I called the top the Play button because that's what it's called in the book... Power/Play/Pause, and I always hit that to play, because it starts playing the music from Stop when you're in menus and stuff, too.

    hahah sorry!

The "enter" button does the same!
it lets you acces a menu or file, play a song, movie or video without having to use the powerbutton(play button)
it wont pause a song or video though

yeah, i think holding the enter button for a couple of seconds during music being played will get you into the calibration screen

I just found out that hitting enter when it's on the music screen doesn't start mine playing.. it goes to the cursor view, but stays stopped. Hitting again shows the info, and then back to normal screen. Hitting enter only starts it playing when you're in the menus and hit enter to start playing what you're selecting. Maybe it's TP and SP difference or firmware?

ok, here's the deal. (for the TP, anyway. )

if you've just turned on your miniplayer, the default screen is the now playing screen. you have to press the power/play/pause button to start playing songs. pressing the enter button at this point will bring you to the seek function and the song info screen if you press enter again.

on the other hand, if you navigate to the browser, or to the music menu, pressing either the power/play/pause button or the enter button will play the selected track.

tapping the center of the strip generally gives the same result as pressing the enter button. hope this helps clear things some.

    Yep thats it
    Thanks for clearing that up!

As i always acces my files through the menu I just use the power button to pause songs and the enter button to start them...

    Sorry for the confusion!
