No resource?

I got my Meizu Mini Player about a month ago, and it has been working ok, but not now I have a really big problem. Whenever I turn it on, a green screen appears and says that there is no resource, please upgrade resource. Then it just shuts off. I looked over the manual about 5 times, tried reseting it about 20 times, and hooked it up to my computer 2 times, but nothing seems to work.

Please help, I really like this player!

P.S. I already posted this on the newcomer forum, but I thought that it was more sutable under technical problems.

hi!

1) press the M-button + ON, while you connect your player to your computer.
2) use DFU-Server and download the new firmware to it

how to use DFU-Server, read here: http://www.meizume.com/index.php?page=faq (under: "Recover Your Player Using DFU Tools:")

I just tried that and it didn't work, the screen on the player just went to the USB connection sign, but that is the weird thing, it doesn't show anything just a thin blue strip on the top, but the computer still recognized the player. Any more ideas?

Just simply reflash the miniPlayer. To do this, grab the official firmware from the meizu website or the downloads section of the meizume website. Place the 2 files in the root directory of your miniPlayer and turn it off, wait 10 minutes then turn it on again.

Once reflashed you should get your GUI back.

My Meizu
Only copy the resource.bin and not the M6.ebn this time. Restart.

I am not sure of what you mean by the resource.bin and the M6.ebn, I do not see that anywhere. I also tried reflash my player, but it did not work. It might be because I have a mac and the player works with macs, but the software and the firmware is only for Windows98SE/ME/2000/XP.

I have a Mac, not a Windows computer, so I don't have a resource.bin or a M6.ebn.

dude, the resource.bin is one of two firmware files you download from here or the official site, it doesn't matter what OS your computer has, there just 2 files

It seems to me that your player is broken. Somehow the bootup proces can't find your resources anymore (which in fact is the operating system of the player just like OSX is your Mac operating system). If this happens suddenly (you weren't trying to flash your player) big chance that your memory allocator is not pointing to the right directions. Your bootup procedure says: "Go left" but your system files are on the right.
How to solve it? I don't know. Maybe format your harddrive or something or try to rewrite your bootsectors (if possible).
I understand you can acces your drive. So indeed first try to reflash. I hope for you I'm wrong.

Greetz,
Kees

Yep I had that problem too

be sure to download the correct firmware for your player! T for TP and S for SP . To check wether you have the TP or SP check the back of the player. if it doesn say SP..its a TP

seems like you didnt install the DFU toopls properly

If they are installed well the computer wont ask what program to use to open it as the DFU tools ARE a program

Did you un-zip the file you downloaded, then install the DFU tools, then start it through your start menu or programm files?

If the computer asks what programm to use to open something it means the thing youre opening is not a program but a file

Do you have Winzip, WinRar, 7zip or WinAce?
If not, just google for one of them.
