you can download Winrar here
http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-...ml?tag=lst-0-1
after downloading Winrar(or a similar unzip program) take these stept:
1) install Winrar, follow instructions on screen
2) after installing Winrar go to the DFU file you downloaded and RIGHT click with your mouse
3) the option "open with Winrar" (or similar) will show up
4) open the DFU file with Winrar and unzip it(make sure you remember where you saved the unzipped files, i recommend the desktop as its easy to find)
5) after unzipping go to the file that was just created, this is the DFU file but now unzipped. This unzipped file can be used to easily install the DFU tools like you would install any other program: run install(or similar) and follow onscreen instructions
after that your DFU tools will be installed
search this forum for the DFU tools manual and tips as it would take too long to explain it all again here.
follow the DFU steps precisely!
The most common mistake is that people don't keep the power and M button pressed ALL the time. You cant let them go until the very end
Dont worry your player can be fixed and we will help you out

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThanks for the program. i installed the software, but i get an error. it says : Failed to open file M6.ebn, when I click ok, then it goes to the DFU server program. the "download" and "abort" buttons are disabled...... there is also nothing listed in the "device", "Image 2," and "status" boxes. in the "image 1" box, it says: SST39VF800.dfu, and the delay 1, and delay 2 boxes both have 1000 milliseconds typed in them. the only button that is enabled is the "cancel" button. I also cant find the folder that contains M6.ebn, and resource.bin........ how can I find them? or can I download the files anywhere? Sorry about all of the problems Im having. it would be great if you had a messenger, or a phone number where I can contact you.

dont worry we will get there

you managed to get the DFU tools installed, that's a good thing
now as for the firmware files you need to take 3 steps:
1) download the firmware (look in the firmware forum, pick the one thats right for your player(for TP players take the T versions, for SP players take the S versions, dont mix that up or you will mess up your player
2) after the firmware is downloaded you have to unzip it
after unzipping you will have 2 files left: M6.ebn and Resource.bin
3) copy-paste these 2 files into the folder where you installed the DFU tools for example: C/program files/dfu or wherever you installed the DFU tools
After you put the 2 files(M6.ebn and Resource.bin) into the DFU folder restart the DFU tools and it should work.
Now follow the DFU instructions exactly and you should be fine
However, if your player says "no resource" it should be really simply fixed by just connecting your player to the comp, opening the player-folder and copying ONLY the Resource.ben(not m6.ebn) file to the player and then restarting the player

Use firmware 1.010 if the DFU recovery fails with the latest one.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI just want to say thank you so much for all of the tips to get my meizu to work, I really love this player. Im still having some minor problems with connecting my player to the computer. When I plug in my meizu, the computer seems to recognize the player because a green arrow appears in the icon tray, which usually lets you know that a device is connected, but when I go to "my computer", it has no removable disk icon. The dfu software seems to be working correctly now, but the "browse, download, abort," buttons are disabled, and the "status", and "device" boxes are still blank. I also cant seem to get the player to connect at all when i hold the m button and the power button at the same time....... it only connects when i power it on, and connect it regularly .... please help me! thank you SO much

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsCorrect, in order to connect my meizu to the computer, i turn it on, then connect the usb cable, and i see the icon where the computer recognizes it, (unplug or eject hardware) but when i go to "my computer", it doesnt show up as a removable disk. it used to before i had problems with it, thats the way i used to transfer my songs, but now, it only shows that i can unplug or eject it safely, but for some reason, i cant find it as a removable disk in "my computer".
any help?

totallypopular , Im not sure if youve fixed your player yet so ill give you a hand...
Do exactly as i say in the exact order...
Open DFU Tools , If M6.ebn Appears in the box then close the program , if it dosnt appear just say and ill tell you how to fix it...
MAKE SURE YOUR PLAYER IS TURNED OFF...
Now , get your dad or mum or whoever to hold down the "POWER" button and "M" key , Make sure she dosnt let go as if she does it may ruin your player from ever recovering...
Once this is done and held conenct the player to the computer , You may hear the "DUN DUN" noise , you may not- Once its sucsesfully connected into your USB Port run "DFU Tools" Hopfully it will list M6.enb in the box and in the device box it will say somthing (Differnt to normal) , Now load up the player with the firmware (Press download) It shoudl sucsesfully finish , Make sure you do not take out the USB Cable before it says "Completed" , Read my sig to find out more info , I hope that has helped , If your computer does not say "M6.enb" then its your computers fault and not the player , Id suggest trying it on a gfew pcs before you give up incase it dosnt work...Last edited by lite; 05-01-2007 at 02:55 PM.

It does play mp3's but most people are not tech savvy enough to try to perform upgrades on their own on this platform, that is all. No trolling please.

Here's the Link:2.004.6 Official Release SP\TP\SL
Make absoloutly sure you use the SL version, as that is your player version. Otherwise, you will get a "bricked" player. Hope this helps! If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.
Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer
