what can actually happen? player works great i'm watching a movie now and have no problems

I also having the same problem, but mine happens at the earphone jack.

I have the same 'problem', although not always. I hear this high note when transferring files and indeed squeaks when it's not. It doesn't happen during normal charging, only when connected.

I don't think it's a serious issue. I have had other people listen to it, and they can't even hear it. :P

What the ___? I thought you just had a new one sent to replace the black spot!

i didnt have a black spot, my button died (play/power one) and yes i have a new one.

I think aquatint is referring to the dust / dirt under the screen but I think that is your current one.

I have heard this noise from my M6 when I first got it but it stopped after a couple of days?

It seems normal, although I don't have a M6 yet, my old computer was making that noises when its CPU was stressed, my phone (SE K700i) whispers while charging, and my MP3 player also says something when deleting a song. Both 3 works fine for now, so it's just an electronic whisper saying 'I'm seriously busy and the voltage is high'. IMHO there's no subject to worry about.
