Using WMP 11 and the M6

Hello to all. I've recently purchased a M6 (though it hasn't arrived yet). I'm exploring options to manage music into and out of the M6 via various Windows applications. I've narrowed it down to two apps: Winamp and WMP 11. Winamp has it's own RSS reader for podcasts (a big issue for me), and there's Juice as an external app for managing podcasts.

Managing USB devices with both apps is easy. Winamp allows me to create .m3u playlist files and sync it to any USB device. Does anyone in the forum uses WMP in the same capacity? (create playlists and transfer them to the device?) with WMP?

    Thanks!

The M6 doesnt need any extra software to upload files as you can just drag and drop
Though given the choice id go for winamp as this is the far better program for music. Its also much smaller and lighter to install and allows easy drag and drop for the media library.

also know that the Meizu can make playlists for you automatically. To ad a file or foler(all songs or cds from a certain artist) to a playlist simple keep the play/enter button pressed while the file is selected untill the scrollbar strats flashing.
The songs of your choise will then be automatically added to your playlist whih you can then name.

I use WMP11 and save a playlist for the M6. At the moment i'm only transferring mp3's via my sync settings, but it seems to work ok.

    I see...

How do you exactly save the playlist from WMP into the M6? I know that, at least in Winamp you can tell the software the location of the playlist file in the USB device and it saves it into the device once it's synced.

I'm just looking for the best solution, I currently use WinAmp to manage my music and Juice to manage the podcasts.

All my music is separated into folders for each album. All I have to do is select all the folders I want to drop into the M6, check their amount of data to make sure it's not over the amount of memory left in the M6, and drag and drop them into the Music folder. After that, I just right click a folder, choose the "Play in Winamp" option, sort the playlist how I want by using winamp's sorting options at the bottom, then save the playlist as whatever name I want into the System folder on the M6. Making playlist files for 20 or so folders only takes me about 3 minutes.

One last question: I tried it using a USB Flash drive in Winamp and it works (DChronos' suggestion). All I want to know is this: does the player care if the playlist contains the path (e.g: G:\Music\Artist\Song) or if the format has to be like ..\Music\Artist\Song without the drive letter?

the second one will work fine
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

I use the WMP 9 , I'm not sure of the difference between the 9 and the 11.
But the 9 is working fine for me

I sent you a private message too...

Did you happen to get Juice to recognize when you have listened to podcasts on your Meizu and have it automatically delete them? I have not been able to make that happen.

As marcelo said, the second option works fine. Here's a peice of one of my playlists:

    #EXTM3U
    #EXTINF:203,STR001
    \Music\Evil Zone\STR001.mp3
    #EXTINF:196,STR002
    \Music\Evil Zone\STR002.mp3

I got the player, and a solution.

Finally I got the player!. (I'll post a review later this week elsewhere on the forum). But for now this is my solution:

I download my Podcasts from iTunes (heh). They end up in the iTunes directory. I cut the whole directory into the player.

I open WMP 11, where the player has a relationship with the player. I shuffle music into the player, and let it end the sync process (about 5~10 minutes). I exit WMP.

I downloaded Playlist Editor off the web. The software enables me to create .m3u playlists wherever I want. I change the settings of playlist creation to 'absolute'. I point the program to the respective directories in the player and create the playlist. I instruct the program to save the playlist into the player's SYSTEM folder.

I turn in the player, update the library and done!. I can listen to my podcasts in the order I want, and I have a nice mix of music once I'm done with the podcasts.

I had stated that I was using Winamp. But I switched completely to WMP because Winamp didn't provide a nice mix every time I instructed it to create the shuffle. Besides, using WMP with the Meizu is a little bit like sticking it to the man.

I've spent the past couple of days playing with my Meizu, and I'll post a review of the player later this week. Don't know if it'll be with pics.

    Cheers to all!
