Power only USB Cable?

Anyone ever tried making a power ownly usb cable? I watch a lot of videos at work and the other day I forgot to charge my meizu and of course in the middle of day 2 on the charge it bailed on me (not surprising since I had to be well over 6 hours by that point). I hooked my meizu upto my work computer to let it charge, but it go me to thinking how nice it would be if I had a USB cable that only had the power connectors so I could use my work computer to charge the Meizu M6 and still be able to use it without it switching over to a USB Mass Storage Device. Any thoughts?

Seems to me that all i would have to do is disable to middle two wires (green and white) and ta da? That seems much to easy.

At home I just use my Motorola charger or hook it to my computer (depending if I need to transfer files).

If you have a spare USB cabe, disconnect all wires except the black and red (GND and +5V) and you should be fine.

Cool. That's what I thought, but I wanted to get someone else's opinion. I have tons of USB cables from old devices.

I got an special power only cable with an external harddisk some years ago. This was ment for getting power from a desktop system and data from a laptop - one side usb plug with power only, other side usb plug and port. I can use the normal cable there...
