    Dane-Elec miniPlayer

Hi Everyone! just picked up my new Meizu miniPlayer ( 2GB, SP, Dane-Elec ) today and found this brilliant forum.

After reading the manual, trying out some music and videos, etc I was truly amazed at the quality this little player produces!

I have just updated the firmware to enable the radio and with the excellent help on this site I am glad to say it was very straight forward, it did do a full format on the initial start up so there was a need to re-copy the resource file over a second time but after that I found the updated firmware was worth making my warranty void for.

Can someone please tell me if I should now have the e-book enabled also? as I cannot find it anywhere in the menu's. I did do a full search of Meizu Me and the web but I cannot find any details about missing e-book other than it was not part of Dane-Elec's firmware?

    Many Thanks,

    Douglas

Just create a new folder named Ebook (or whatever), then open the file from the browser menu. True, it doesn't say ebook but it works fine :P

Just make another folder. Then, put a text file (only text files, no .doc files) into the filder. When you turn the player on, go to browser and find that file and open it. You should now be viewing the file. Oh, and Welcome to Meizu Me
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

you do not lose the warranty when you update the firmware.

think about it: the official guide on how to install firmware is in the instruction, so basically you can't damage the hardware in any way (of course if you put the RIGHT version firmware)

The warranty is voided if you change the firmware from what i know...

But if you change it back to the Dane-elec firmware no harm done no one will know. And you have your warranty

Upgrading the warranty does NOT void the warranty. It says in the manual, that you can find upgraded firmware on the Meizu website. Nowhere does it say that it will void the warranty.

I've confirmed this with Dane-Elec, and they agree that upgrading the firmware is not a problem.
