Does the Meizu M6 Support "Ape" Format?

I'm in the middle of doing some research before either purchasing the Meizu M6 or the Cowon D2. I've heard mentioning on the net that the M6 supports ape files but I've been unable to find such a mention in the official M6 specs or firmware upgrades. Can any of you kind people tell me if the Meizu can indeed support ape files? Many thanks, jkd_ba

It doesn't, but it might in the upcoming SL-version of the M6. You can however use FLAC, which is a similair lossless audio codec.

Many thanks mfb! I have over 1100 files already in ape format. Asking the question over the net regarding converting ape to flac opened a whole new can of worms. One line of thought was no loss of signal quality going from lossless to lossless and the other line of thought was no so, better to re-rip.

CD -> WAV -> APE -> WAV-> FLAC. Each step is lossless.
If you find a good converter from APE to FLAC you might keep all the tag informations as well.

If a Meizu device can have APE and FLAC... why some "gods of the sound" say thing "if there is FLAC why APE?... What makes them think that they are "experts"???

Come on guys let's be more modest and stop trying to teaching us what is good or what is bad... this forum is not a place to show how awesome we are... is not Vanity Fair...is a place to help others to enjoy the best of their Meizu devices.
