Requesting pictures inside M6 SP 4GB

I'm requesting for some adventurous person with a 4GB SP version M6 to take some really good quality images of the inside of their M6. That is, both sides of the circuit board, and both sides of the circuits going to the SP screen, and the circuits of the touch strip. I'd like to be able to see the detail of the circuits if possible and at least the numbers and text on the chips inside. If anything, you could make an image and point to the chip and just tell what the text on it says... probably better than trying to get a clear image, but if you can, take a pic, too.

I would like to see what the difference is between an SP and TP 4GB, as well as the difference between a 4GB and 8GB SP player. I have a board from an 8GB player, and have a 4GB TP version.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to tear their apart and put it back together! just don't try it unless you're sure you can do it, please! Don't want any broken M6's on my account! ^_^;;

If anyone else wants to contribute pictures from other versions and post them, go right ahead! I already know the picture set from the early versions of the M6 and have those, too. I might post those, but might not for confusion on what the M6 really looks like now.

This thread can be used to provide some help for those with technical expertise to see what the boards are set up like and stuff before opening their M6's and attempting some kind of repair.

The number of times I've taken mine apart....

I think I remember taking some photos a while back - I'll have a look for them.

You can't see any of the actual circuit on the board if you were planning on tracing the wires from photos - I think someone mentioned it was a 6 layer clad (plus most of the chips are surrounded by epoxy)

I'll post when I find them

Ahh I can't find them!

Here's one that I took when I first got my miniplayer - not great =[.
I lost my miniplayer last week on holiday - I would have been more than happy to take some more shots otherwise.

Yeah, I guess the circuits themselves are very hard to see, though mainly it's the components and their positions that would tell if there are similarities between the models. I already see a bunch that's the same on this 8GB board, yet a lot of small stuff that's different.

Also, I wonder about 2 GB versions, too... if they still have 2 chips, or just 1 2GB chip.

I came across this M3 disassembly article today, while searching for more info on the M6's processor: http://translate.google.com/translat...3Doff%26sa%3DN

I already got those pics too, audiofish. I tried a dozen various combos of m6 and pictures and something suggesting disassembled, inside, etc. in google, and came up with nothing I've been trying to find. Thanks anyway!

EDIT:
Well, a search for individual chips brought this page up. This is exactly the board version and type my TP M6 4GB version uses. This also shows the circuitry of the touchpad, which is pretty cool. Still have no idea how it works, though.

The slider is controlled by a QT411 chip: http://www.qprox.com/products/qslide_qt411.php
These little ICs are fantastic - they require no calibration and automatically adjust for drift. I'm currently using one in a project I'm doing for my GCSEs =]

I have to ask, how the hell does that touchstrip sense where your finger is, and only when you're actually touching the plastic part of the touchpad?

yeah, those are from the Prototype or the T1 version... not at all what the SP looks like inside, aside from the placement of the large parts.
