I bought the player for my daughter. Brand new - same problem. Worked wonderful. Battery power went down, screen went off and will not go on again. Seems like the unit itself is functioning - when the controls are pressed, you can hear clicks. File system is visible from Vista Ultimate. None of the special reset operations work. Windows always interprets plugging the unit in via USB as a disk drive - will not let me install the DFU as a driver. Starting DFU by itself produces buttons that are not enabled.

Seems that a lot of people are having this type of problem. How to solve??

    Thanks in advance for help.

Try re-loading the firmware (You go to this website
http://en.meizu.com/down_x.asp?MZ_ID=129&Type=2 (this is MEIZU's website and the server is in China so it will take a while to download) and download the file. Remember to always down load the Sxxxx.x version of the firmware, not the Txxxx.x version. Downloading the T firmware will mess your player up. After the file has downloaded you have to install WinRAR. You can find WinRAR at Cnet.com's download tab for free. Once WinRAR is downloaded, you have to right click on the file that you downloaded from MEIZU's website and click on extract here. Then you should see two unzipped files (M6.ebn and Resource.bin). You then plug your player to the computer and drag both the files into your Player. Unplug your player and shut it off. Then turn it on again. It should say updating or something like that. If the screen says no resource don't worry, just plug the player back into the player and re-drag the resource.bin into the player. Unplug it again and restart the player. It should be fine now. I hope this helps.)
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer

Yes now it is working, thx for help.... and for those that can't turn the player on, try to hold the Arrow + ON/OFF for 10 sekund, after that, press ON button again now it should turn on and a green display will show up.

I think it is kind of silly that two of the same title showed up for the same issue. Don't we have this sort of thing stickied somewhere in an FAQ, being a very common question?

Sorry, just thinking out loud, here

I tried the on/off + arrow (and other of the mentioned special reset controls). Unit would not change state. I have the firmware in the root directory.

    Screen will not turn on.

I've been sniffing around and found that there have more more instances of this in the past, with no viable solution or replies stating what actually worked; if anyone can help with this as I do not have a player yet, I suggest it be stickied since it's not present in the website's FAQ.

What model does this occur with (chinese original or dane electric)?

When did you get your players?

How long have you had them?

Hopefully y'all can get help...because this is scaring me.

Ira mine is also a 4GB Sp model white should have been black.. but anyway if you can see the player in your computer (puttin the usb cable in the miniplayer)then there is definetly a firmware problem. be sure that you haven't locked the player, also try to press the << + ON/OFF or >> ON/OFF for like 10 sekund, maybe that would help, but again if your computer can regonice your Mini player, then i think it is firmware problem.. if non of that is helpin, then there is something wrong with your player.

mbarry, when i copied the M6.ebn and Resource.bin file to the folder (system) and also to the main folder, cause i wasn't yet sure where it should locat. I then turn the Mini player off, and then turn it on again, there where no such (Upgrading or anything else, like you descriped) a only white box popped up in the middle and then for like 5 sekund the player turned off again, i then tried to turn player on again, And suddenly it worked

I just wanted to add a quick little experience that just happend to me.

Two days ago I got my Meizu m6 sp 8gig player.
After a bit of trouble updating my firmware, everything was going quite well. The only thing is that I have to press the on-buttom three times before it actually turns on, tad annoying but I can live with it.

Two hours ago it just did'nt turn on, I checked the hold button and pressed every key for a minute or more. After reading this board for several minutes(in great panic) it started to work again. Im giong to reinstal the software to be safe.
