Dead Meizu M6

I bought an M6 off of Amazon.com, which just arrived today. I let it charge for about 20 minutes and then attempted to update the firmware. The process went exactly as the tutorial on the meizu forums described until I went to turn it back on; now it gives me nothing but a solid white screen. I searched around for a solution to the problem, and someone suggested to format it. I followed the procedure in the manual to format the M6, which completed normally, but now my computer won't even recognize the M6 when it's plugged in. I've tried a soft reset and hard reset. Is there any way to fix this? I haven't even gotten to use it yet, all I saw was the main menu and charging screens very briefly before I let it charge up to update the firmware

Now it's still giving me a solid white screen. I can turn it off and on by holding down the power button for an extraordinarily long period of time (I suppose it's the soft reset kicking in) but when it comes back on it's still just a solid, bright white screen. When I tried the hard reset it never flashed green at all, just remained white and turned itself off after a little while of me holding the buttons.

Oh, and when I press buttons it still makes the little chirping noise.

At the moment it's making a decent flashlight, but that's about it. I never even got a chance to put a file on it :/

You probably downloaded the TP version firmware. Do not despair though, you can use DFU tools.

Thanks, I'll look up the DFU tools. If they're based off of the PC though, I'm out of luck because I can't get my PC to see my M6 at all.

try using all reset types before you use DFU tools.

you can read from the FAQ button.
i had a similar problem like yours, so suggest you soft/hard reset before you go ahead with DFU tools..read, and reread the steps before you execute the DFU ware..

Yeah, I didn't use the DFU tools. I was fooling around trying to make it work and plugged in my earbuds and suddenly my PC saw the M6. I can't explain how or why it did it, it just randomly decided to talk to it again. So, even though the screen remained white I did the correct update this time and it's working fine now. This is a great player, by the way :D

Thanks for all your help, folks.
