PLEASE HELP!!! Meizu 8GB died

Please Help!!!

My 8GB Meizu M6 died tonight. I was updating the firmware when it crashed, and now its completely non-responsive. It won't RESET, HARD RESET, or anything else. I tried to connect it using DFU tools but it won't even respond when I hold down M and on/off.

Any suggestions? I'm dying here!

Thanks in advance

Take a breather.... And calmly right down the exact steps you are taking in trying to recover this. Because what you have mentioned is pretty much how you resolve this issue.

Give us some detailed steps in your recovery.

OK. Here goes.

First I attempted to recover by holding down enter. I did that for 30 seconds, and the M6 flashed white for a second and then went unresponsive.

I then tried a hard reset - no response from the player

I then attempted to recover the memory - no response.

I then decided to try using DFU tools. I held down M and ON/OFF for a minute with no response from the player. I continued to hold both buttons down while I plugged in the USB cable - no response from player and windows could not see it.

I then decided to take a break and let the battery charge just in case that was the issue.

Its now 7 hours later and still nothing works. Have I fried this thing?

When you have the DFU tools open and you correctly connect the player, does the "Download" button go active in the DFU program?

On my computer (XP), the DFU doesn't show up as a separate drive or have any visual cues, and most times no audible cues either, that it's connected. It is only shown as active when the Download button in DFU tools can be clicked. If it can be clicked, then do it, and it should go through the process.

Also, which firmware are you using to try and recover it? It definitely works better with older firmware S1.00x.x, than with the newer S2.xxx.x.

From my experience, the fact that you still get the flash is a positive sign that somethings going on, and most likely is recoverable.

So it doesn't show up even as an unknown device?

When you hold the menu and power buttons, does it flash white?

I have got the same problem as well.

I have accidentally downloaded firmware for TP versions to my machine which is a SP version.

At first there has been a black screen, after pressing arrow button for a long time and resetting, there was a white screen. Today I have tried my computer to see the machine, but the computer certainly does not see.

I have just tried same thing one more time, now the machine does not show white screen either. And unfortunally the computer does not still see the meizu.

What should I do? Awaiting your soonest reply.

Best regards,

I finally got my M6 to work. It took a lot of trying and retrying.

First I held the enter button down for 30 seconds.
Then I immediately held the M button and the ON/OFF button.
The screen did not respond, but I held the buttons, connected the USB, and then started DFU Tools

Windows asked for a driver, I directed it to the unsigned driver in the DFU Tools folder.

This time DFU tools recognized the player and I was able to fix the problem.

So basically I just kept trying to soft reset until finally it took.

Just keep working through the steps on the FAQ over and over.

Thanks to all who posted a reply. It really helped me calm down, focus, retrace my steps, and fix the M6.

Cheers!

DFU should work. I accidentally did the same thing but I had to repeatedly use DFU 30 times before I recovered my player.
