help meeee!
i'm so annoyed lately with my M6 because the touchpad goes "buggy". i keep it in my pocket in the leather pouch which came with it. when i go somewhere i start the music and switch to Hold....and 5 minutes later when i want to change a track or something the tapping function barely works and when i want to scroll it goes up and down all instead of just one direction, so i have to hold the enter button for a few seconds, then calibrate the touchpad, and it's ok after that...but 5 minutes later it's all the same
anybody had this problem before, and have a solution?
i use the newest 2.003.2 firmware, and i usually navigate the menus with the tapping function, and i always use the Hold button...
i hope you understand what i mean :D

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHello, nice2know_u. Yeah, I understand your problem, since I'm also experiencing the same issue when carrying my M6 inside the pocket, also in the bundled pouch.
Unfortunately, I think there's no solution other than the remedy you've mentioned -- but turning it off and on again also seems to solve the problem temporarily.
I've been thinking of buying one of those crystal cases they're selling on eBay. I suppose that while the M6 is inside the crystal case and in the pocket the touchpad won't receive contact or pressure, thus preventing it from losing calibration. I don't know whether it will work or not, but it's something I may try...

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThis seems to be a common issue.
It's very annoying, happens to me too.
It seems that the device is always dynamically calibrating it's touch-pad and when you put it in the pocket it is constantly touched and just goes insane.
The wish-list contains a good suggested solution - no calibration (i.e. reading touchpad input) while in HOLD mode.
I REALLY hope this will be fixed in the next firmware.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHello!
As a new owner that's driven mad by the touchpad, I have a question: did the extra-sensitive touchpad problem start with a recent firmware upgrade (S2003.2) or has it always been an issue?
I'd be willing to give up a lot of functionality if only the touchpad wasn't so high-maintenance...

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsi've kept it in my pocket sometimes with the hold switch on and sometimes not. never had any problems with the touch strip yet.. i'm using the latest meizu firmware (2.003 or something?).
by the way, how do you calibrate the touch pad? like when you press down the "enter" button for few seconds it jumps to a calibration window and says press "play" button to calibrate but I'm not exactly sure how to work it. it's not mentioned in the manual either.Last edited by moto; 06-20-2007 at 12:04 AM.

i believe the touchstrip plays up because of the hold switch. If you have the hold switch on, after one hour or so, your touchpad is more susceptible to acting up. With a crystal case, the touchpad is recessed so you don't need to use the hold switch at all, hence there will be nothing wrong with the touchstrip.(There are rare occurances where this will happen, but for most of the times it is ok).
You could try and see if your clothing activates your touchstrip though. Leave the hold switch off and put it in your pocket, have a walk and you may be surprised that certain types of clothing will not activate the touchstrip at all
Additionally, if you don't already know, do not touch the touchstrip while the m6 is booting up. During the bootup process your m6 will be calibrating your touchstrip, so if you touch it whilst it is booting up, you'll likely encounter problems after it has booted.
The original firmware 1.05 - 1.07 had a rather sensitive and buggy touchstrip. This problem was greatly improved from firmware version 1.09 onwards.
As for calibration, I'm not sure how to work it, but I'm sure other members could enlighten you on that.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsAbout the calibration, it's very simple, when you enter the screen that says "Press play to calibrate" you just press play (a.k.a. the on/off button) once.

It's a design flaw, in my opinion. M6 users have many problems with the touchpad.
I'm hesitant to buy another MP3 player (especially a Meizu) after the problems I've had. I had to take the damned thing apart on many occasions to fix the problem. If you apply pressure between the circuit and the backing by means of a non-flammable wedge (I just used paper, but the Meizu doesn't get hot enough to light it).
The Minione/m8 looked promising at first, but now it's not even going to be a phone for north america. If its quality is anything like the M3, count me out.I'm out

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI just got my M6 yesterday, and I'm not sure if this is a calibration problem... so please hear me out.
For my M6, it is very easy to press/click the "<-" portion of the strip (bottom), but in order to press the "M" menu button I have to press /click all the way at the top where the "M" is. Understand? To press "<-" I can actually press/click slightly above the marking easily, but the menu button will only press/click exactly at "M".
Is my touch strip clicking less sensitive than everyone else's?
