    Faceplate Replacement?

I was recently loading up my car while listening to my Meizu and I accidentally dropped it:eek: . Now the front lower left corner of my M6 has a small sized area that is covered in deep gashes from the pavement. The player still functions as it should, but I am trying to find a way to replace the faceplate. I want to at least have a way to smooth it out so it looks like what it used to be. Any ideas for where I could get a replacement faceplate, or how to smooth it out? Please post anything that can help in my situation. I'm the kind of person who likes everything as near to perfection as it could be, so please help. Anything would help.

I think you can't replace the faceplate, as you can't buy a new one. Nevertheless maybe you could try a cover plate @ HouseOfDap :

I've herd something about using 'applsauce?' to cover up for scratches and dents.. Never tried it myself, but I herd it worked.

If you're not in too much of a hurry, I'm thinking about parting out my player if I still don't receive a response from Meizu or miniplayer.info within the week...

Thanks everyone, I think what I will do is take some 600 grit, or finer, sand paper and sand the area until it is smooth. I will then use Applesauce. Thanks again for all your help! I really hope it will work!

If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer

did you check out my thread from earlier? There is a seller on e-bay that sells protective skins for the mini player, and it will cover up the scratches. They look cool too.

Heres the link to the thread.
Custom Protective skin for M6 and M3

Whoa buddy.... not 600 grit... thats insane.

I'm on the same boat what i use for the time being is Plastix plastic polisher you can buy it from any auto zone.

    For the perfect gloss:

get 2000 grit wet sand paper and 3M compound

with the sandpaper wet you want to sand across the meizu in one direction first... then after you produce a milky substance on the meizu you will want to sand in the other direction. Keep the sand paper wet at all times...

becareful you don't get water in the meizu.

Always clean off mikly substance with "MICROFIBER CLOTH (wet)"

After it dries off you will get a matt / milky finish on the meizu screen.

From here you want to grab FRESHLY NEW MICROFIBER CLOTH.... saturate it with 3M Compound (plastic polish) and buff the heck out of the meizu... be sure to use plenty of compount.. (BECAREFUL NOT TO GET IT IN THE CRACKS OF THE BUTTON. IT WILL DRY AND CRUMPLE THROUGH ON TO THE SCREEN ON THE INSIDE)... it is best practice to open your meizu and delicately take off the face plate. Note: you may have an unclosable meizu if you are a brute opening.

I will perform this operation on my meizu eventually and document it in a new thread with video demonstration...

If you have a dremel get a "100% cotton cloth polish tip" and set it to the lowest setting and buff the player with the compount like that.. WARNING... you may burn your player screen.. First test on something like a screen of you cell phone or CD JEWEL case until perfection.

even I you could buy a replacement faceplate it's difficult to get your old faceplate unattached from the screen and touch strip.(it's not the way ipods are if thats what you think it's like) If you know what your doing it would be alright though

Just be sure to use 2000 grit sandpaper (wet sanding paper)
