This function was called OTG (On The Go) - and it is same as USB Host. But now, it is disabled due to errors when transferring. Maybe, in future versions will be back again.

just a full size usb connector (the present on the battery case or any mini-USB to USB adapter)

it will suppport OTG... seem that you could use that adapter in order to get a full USB port to plug devices. You can also use the Meizu External Battery Case

It must be also supported by FW. Current version S 1.010 or S1.010.3 does not support it.

    Marcelo,

I'm a bit confused. You're not saying that T1.010 currently supports OTG, correct? But you are certain that it "will support OTG"? Just curious.

    (I'm still using T1.009)

Ok, here's the real deal. Both versions TP and SP will support the OTG as said by Meizu. In the Current version V1.010 is not yet supported, but as all of you know, they made an important change on file structure and internal management (not big external changes though) that hopefully will let miniplayer to accept devices pluged to it... of course in the V1.011 :D

I hope they get that out soon... I have plans on trying to build myself an M6 case with a built in something-Gigabyte microdrive (or flash drive) that plugs into the mini USB port so I can carry all my music with me to transfer at any time. Seeing this info about the battery pack being able to be used to plug USB devices into makes me wonder if I can tear one open and incorporate a separate power source for both the microdrive and the miniplayer.

I'd be tearing apart a bunch of things and rewiring to do this, though, but if it worked, it'd be a hell of a deal! Great player with all my music with me, still in a small package!

you need the external battery pack if you need to power the device you are connecting via the USB, (exanmple USB memory sticks). if the device has its own power like cameras etc it should be ok to use an adapter cable.

The miniplayer can not power USB devices from its own battery and need the external battery pack for that.
