is there a file limit for m6?

I have a M6 8gb, I transferred via MTP/WMP11 over 2700 (WMA) songs and the miniplayer only shows 2048 in "all songs". Is there some sort of limit to the number of songs one can have on 8gb?

thanks

Try split thewm into two folders if they are all in a single folder.

I have the player's USB to MTP mode and sync with my library. I do not specify which folder(s) to use on the device. Earlier, I set to MSC mode and drag files from 3 folders onto the device. The same seems to have happened, 2048 songs are visible.

Thanks

I'm having the same trouble. Currently Windows Explorer shows that I have 5.78 GB filled on the player. The Music Folder shows that there are 2904 files and 453 folders. All wma's. However when I go to the player itself and goto Music>All Songs, it only shows 2048 songs.
Many of the artists that I loaded on towards the end do not show up in the music folders even though they are clearly seen thru Windows Explorer. I have tried loading songs thru both USB types, drag & drop, and WMP11 with the same result. Any solutions?

Could this be an issue with all the extra crud that is embedded with some music downloads? For example, I transfer a directory with 20 songs - but that directory actually has 25 files because of the hidden thumbs.db, jpg., etc. So, Exploder will correctly show 25 files - I transfer 25 files - but M6 will show 20 songs.

Hmmm. Interesting. I have no idea what a hard file descriptor is so I had to look it up and do some reading. After reading I still don't know what it means. However I read several different articles and they all gave examples that included the 'hard limit' number as 2048. How do we get around that?

Look like we have to bring this to meizu attention, Look like its a limit in the firmware, and will have to be fixed. All songs should show all song not just the first 2048. They need to increase the song indexing memory size.

This seems to be a common fault with DAP manufactures when the increase the flash size of the players and forget that the number of songs will be larger than the index, Firmware will usually fix this problem.

Yeah, how do we forward this info to Meizu? This seems like it will be a fairly common problem once more people get hooked up with the 8gb.

It is a limit in the firmware. Meizu has noticed it. Maybe it will be fixed in next update of firmware.

It has nothing to do with the file system (you wouldn't see all your files in the windows explorer, right ?)
Still the number 2048 is no incidence, it's 2^11. This limitation is just a sign for not very farsighted programming. They seemed to having used a static list with 2048 entries.
Nothing we can do about it but praying that they fix it in the next FW.
Shouldn't be a big thing for them if they'd only address that.

What is the point of buying an 8 gig player

If there is a file limit of 2048 what is the point of buyin a 8 gig player?

Is the file limit of 2028 only for songs, can you add any more photo's to the player?, or isthe total number of files limited to 2028 no matter what type of files they are?

This has been stated as a firmware limitation that can be resolved. This may not just happen on just the Meizu but also on other players as it can be a manufacturer oversight to forget to increase (or remove) the limit for the lists when they increase player storage capacity.

I have 1970 Photos, 808 mp3s and 36 movies on my player. That should answer your question.

What they are saying is :

You can load all the song you want onto your Meizu 8GB , but only 2048 will show up when looking in "Music browser" BobbyQ , as long as you have no moer than 2048 of anything (MP3 OR AVI OR JPEG), Your fine.
