    Lower half of screen blank problem

    Hi,

    My miniplayer was working fine on Friday evening. Yesterday when I turned it on the lower half of the screen was blank ( vga photo posted here :

    )

    I flased the firmware to the latest dane-elec version (which included a format) but this had no effect.

    The player had not been used and there are no signs of any damage to it externally.

    What do people think ?

    TIA

    F.

    Looks like hardware failure to me, I would suggest contacting your supplier for repair or replacement under warranty.

    i'm not an expert but sounds to me like the lcd itself has gone kaput. either get it replaced or buy a new one.

    Yeh , you can tell , Ive broken enoguh LCD screen to tell anyway , Youve sat on it and its cracked. the two black bits are the "Ink" spliiages where the pressure got so bad the glass cracked , They are physical and not removable by any firmware updates.

    yep, I agree, something that's quite heavy (the M6 is quite tough) has been put on the screen and thoroughly cracked it. Even the liquid crystals are seeping out. I'm sorry, but you have to replace the LCD or buy another one

    Interestingly there is absolutely no sign of external damage, not even a scratch on the screen (which does not have a protector on )

    The screen cover bends (You may not be able to tell) but the glass beneath it dosnt , so the pressure on the screen over makes it bend , But then it toutches the glass and puts pressure on it , the lass breaks , causing leankage and the "While light" is just the backlight and not the actual screen display a picture.
