M6 not recognized by Windows, help!!

I have a M6, it appears to function normally. But here is the problem: when pluged in to my PC's USB port, windows does not correctly see it. I am running XP Pro SP2. Windows detects the player, I can hear the "ding" when a USB device is plugged and unplugged, but does not assign a drive letter to it, so I cannot access it. My other USB devices such as the thumb drive works just fine when plugged in.

I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Try a different USB cable, it works for me sometimes (i sometimes have the same problem). Your cable may have a loose connection.

First your miniPlayer must be powered -on before connecting. Then maybe your USB settings is MTP, change it to MSC. Try to plug it into another USB port. You probably did all this things already, but maybe not !

I thought at another reason : maybe your miniPlayer took the same name as one of your other devices. To see that, connect your miniPlayer then make a right click on "my computer", then click to "manage" then in "storage" and on "management of the discs" and you will see with which letter it appears and if it took the same name as another device (C:, D:.....). It will then be enough to change the letter making right click and "change the letter.........". I hope it's the solution :D !

Sometimes the USB port can act strange. Go to device manager in My Computer's properties and see if there is any device with a question mark on it. Plug your miniplayer in and see if there is a question mark on that, and troubleshoot it from there.

    Thanks everyone for your response.
Austin: Tried a different cable, did not work. Tried another USB port also.
xx-c: M6 was turned on before connecting. How to change USB MTP or MSC?
M6 is seen under Device Manager as "Meizu USB device", but is not listed under "My Computer".

Actually that MSC thing works great. I had the Problem that, even though I could open the folder, I couldn't for example delete protected music folders and windows said it would've lost connection. Thanks for the help
