The first Mp3 player I ever had was a Dell pocket DJ and it used USB 2.0, after that i got a sansa, which had the proprietary connector. The problem I had with the DJ was that when i was putting music on it, the battery would not charge, in fact, it would drain faster. Is this the same case with the M6? Are proprietary connectors like sansa and Ipod the only ones that charge while transmitting data?

If the M6 is usb connected while it is turned off it will boot and go to the charging screen but will have no other function. If the player is turned on when connected it will go to the USB connection screen for data transfer and will charge at the same time. The player will not have any functions while connected to usb so if you want to use the player while charging you will have to use a mains charger.
