Car audio connector (similar to iPod adapter) for M6?

Is there a car audio connector for the M6? I'd like to connect the M6 to my car stereo and control it through the car stereo, like you can do with several iPod adapters. This way, I can put the M6 in the glove box, and not worry about getting distracted by controlling it directly by looking on its small screen. Are there any adapters that plug into the mini-USB port of the M6 and connect it to car stereos?

Thanks a lot

You can get FM Transmitters that connect through the earphone jack that work with just about any Mp3 player. Do a search on ebay for "MP3 FM Transmitter" and you will get a couple of thousand hits.

yeah its called a regular usb cable (the one that came with the Meizu works perfect)

my deck accepts a USB flash drive, hence, why i got the meizu (shows up as a removeable drive rather than some kind of retarted propriatary crap, IE Zune, ipod, etc)

i plug my 8gb meizu into my car deck, the car deck will pull the file listing off the meizu and start playing in alphabetical order, it goes by folder browsing (the best way). also while its playing the meizu CHARGES too!!!

my deck is a JVC KG-G820

the display is no where near as good as my old pioneer OLED display, but a usb port on your car deck is not anything you can live without.

BTW: it only takes 7 seconds for the deck to read 4GB worth of mp3s

EDIT: forgot to mention, even if your not playing off the usb port, you can still plug in like a phone and it will charge it(IE razr or any phone with a usb port like almost every HTC phone) .

if you already made the mistake of buying some mp3 player that shows up as MTP or propriatary format, you have the option of AUX in, i got the add on for $30 shipped, its just an extension cable that has a 3.5mm standard headphone jack, i use it to play the GPS voice from my PDA phone through my car speakers if i need too.

The following are my circumstances:

Have a OEM radio (radio that came with the original car) and live in a urban area:
  • FM transmitters might not be a good choice because there are to many stations that I will hear interference in the fm trans. plus the bitrate of all my music and flacs willbe reduce to 128kbps by FM.
  • Replacing oem radio is a hassle, sometimes need to buy third party equipment to retro-fit my stereo system in the car, aftermarket radio have more chances to be stolen than OEM radios and light and ilumination of some aftermarket radios dont match my car's led.
I have a dodge dakota 03 and my solution was with the auxiliary port in my oem radio. Companies may sell you this solution for $84 or more like this guy. There are different manufacturers but the cheapest I found was around $44 which is not bad.
You can go to this guy who I bought my aux adapter for my car he might have your car's model. If you never ever have remove a car radio, you might need professional assistance or do a good research on the net before doing anything.

Hope well on your endeavour!

Excellent. I think I'll do this too. I was thinking of changing my car stereo last month to get one that can play mp3 CD. I'm glad I haven't done it yet. I'll get one with a USB port and connect the Meizu M6 to it.

My current car stereo already has a front panel aux-in, but I don't prefer that because I want to be able to control the music through the car stereo, and put the Meizu away in the glove box.

I have a single DIN after market stereo. But I'm about to swap it for a new one. I'll get one with a USB port. Thanks for the tip anyway.
