    Stuck at Meizu screen

I have been using my M6 (Firmware S2.003.2) for a few weeks now without any problems. However, I recently encountered a problem when I disconnected it from my PC after putting some music/video on it.

After I disconnected it, I was taken to the UPDATING LIBRARY screen. While I expected this, the problem was that it was stuck on the screen without actually updating anything for a good 5 minutes. I then reset the player by holding down the ENTER key for about 10sec, or until the player turned off.

When I proceeded to turn on the player again, I went through the LOADING screen, followed by the MEIZU screen, at which point it froze again (did not encounter the MINIPLAYER screen).

I have tried a hard reset by holding down both the PLAY/PAUSE button and the FF button while on the stuck MEIZU screen, but it will not reset (held the buttons for a good minute).

When I plugged in the M6 again after I turned it off, I was automatically taken to the LOADING screen, followed by the CHARGING screen. When I disconnect the player and try to turn it on again, I encounter the same problem (Stuck at the MEIZU screen).

I have tried plugging in the M6 when it is stuck at the MEIZU screen, but nothing occurs.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem. Thanks in advance!

You may have some file corruption that is hanging the player. Try holding down the FF while you turn the player on this should do a low-level format.

Thanks! That seemed to have worked to reset the player. I believe the mistake I made was holding down the power button followed by the FF button instead of the other way around.

However, I encountered another problem after I reset the player. I was transferring a small folder of music to make sure the player still worked and was not paying attention to the screen. Apparently, it had shut itself off, since when I disconnected the USB, the UPDATING LIBRARY screen failed t appear. When I tried turning on the player, I didn't even get the initial flash that I expected. After about 10 minutes, I tried turning it on again and it suddenly responded again. However, it got stuck at the MEIZU screen again. I then used a hard reset again and everything loaded fine again. I will try to transfer some files over again later to make sure it works.

I have a few suspicions as to what may be going on. Has anyone tried using an FM.ini file that contains 65 channels? I made a list of every 0.5 Hz frequency from 76.00-108.00 for easier access. Could this be screwing up the system causing the load to fail? Also, does the M6 support VBR bitrates? I recently re-encoded my music to reduce the file sizes so I could fit more music on the M6.

but why would you need to list all these channels? i'm sure not all of them are actual radio stations you can listen to. i'm not sure if it is causing your problem but you can simply list down the available radio stations in your area so that it'll be easier for you to scroll through them.

for vbr, yes, as far as i know the m6 does support them.

Thanks for the reply glacier. The only reason I had so many channels is because the M6 would not detect a lot of them while auto-scanning and trying to manually tune was a process that took too long, especially since it tunes in only 0.1Hz increments.

As it turns out, the large FM.ini list was the culprit. When I replaced it with a file with less channels, the M6 worked perfectly. Thanks for the help everyone!

If you want to know all FM station where you live, just search them on internet (request "FM stations (city)" for exemple), then create your FM.INI with all of them, and your Miniplayer will play them !
