Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsbefore updating firmware save any music and videos and photos that may be pre-installed to your computer
Upgrade firmware and then copy your choice of music and video and photos to miniplayer

Yeah. Latest firmware formats your mini player, as I found out. I didn't have much on thankfully, and it was all still on the computer anyway. Good luck.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsJust wondering, is there a *real* need to upgrade the firmware?
I received my Dane-Elec M6, running S10.10.3 a few weeks ago, and so far I'm absolutely pleased with it. Loaded it with my favorite music in both mp3 and ogg format and they sound absolutely fantastic. Loaded just about all my family photos from our last vacation and they look great. Converted and loaded several family videos plus some South Park episodes, and they're fantastic as well.
What exactly am I missing by not upgraded the firmware?
Thanks...

No. Here is a review from a Mac user: http://macenstein.com/default/archives/450
For the second statement, you obviously haven't done your homework. Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Ummmm, what kind of "mac" user are you talking about? Big mac user maybe? :P
I'm a "mac"(the MacBook kind) and I love this thing. No problems whatsoever. Only gripe is no skin editor for mac.
Please PM me if you are having problems and I can sort through them for you, or just reply on here and all the other mac users can benefit as well.
To get radio, you just need to update to the non-dane elec firmware.
I hope we can help you through this frustration. That's what forums are for!

erm, alan_g your player just needs a resources update reconnect it to your pc and put resource.bin only onto it

lite, if you read his previous post, the problem he has now is not the green screen anymore, it's the white screen. Most likely, he has tried using DFU tools already.
Anyhow, the player isn't bricked. But it will require time and effort to fix it, something clearly not previously demonstrated by alan_g, as a quick read of the FAQ would have solved the green screen/no resource problem. Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Do you have access to a PC? If so, I suggest you doing a DFU recovery.
