miniplayer wont turn OFF!!

specs:
m6 miniplayer (SP) 8GB,
white, 2002.3 firmware (english)

previous to incident:
was transfering a (movie) video file,
transfer was finished with no problems
I unplugged usb so I can watch my movie.
but screen still in 'connected to USB' mode

problem:
it is in 'connected to USB' mode constantly with spinning blue circular arrows around the USB symbol,
note usb cable is NOT PLUGGED INTO THE PLAYER.
when plugged into USB on windows, it's not detected.
when plugged into USB on a mac, it's not detected.


if anyone has encountered this problem before, I would appreciate a response, thanks.
