White Stripes on Display!?!

Hey there!

Is my beloved M6SP dying? Without any outer influence the display showed an vertical white stripe. That was in November this year (2011 (watch the date this post was created )).
Today I wanted to re-install the FW (2.0004.6) just to see, if there's a software issue,
Turned on the player on -still the one stripe-, plugged in USB and suddenly ther was a second stripe

An again, without any ("physic") outer influence: It did not fall down, wasn't shaked oder something else.
I guess/hope that it is not an "real" hardware-issue, 'cause it are white stripes. If the display was "broken", in my opinion, the stripes should stay black - Shouldn't they?


I hope someone can help me so my start into 2012 will still be full of music :D

Those stripes are pretty unsual. Before saying broken, I would first try mesh with DFU tools and try a different firmware.
I guess broken/bad lines or pixels can both appearing as one constant white or black colour and sure other colors as well. I just did a search in here, but cannot saying what's really caused to this.

No they'd be white since it's a LCD.

Looks like a hardware problem to me.

thanks for your replies. Hopefully the player doesn't continue with 1stripe/ month.
At least it plays the music as is should As long as the titles can be read, I'm fine with that.
