M6 Toshiba Vs Samsung Screen/Display

The M6 was produced with two different screens.
One by Toshiba and then a cheaper one by Samsung.

The Toshiba has better colour saturation, while the Samsung offers an increase in brightness.

Here are some pictures of the different screens.

What I want to know is which one do you guys think is better?
According to Wikipedia they have completely stopped producing the Toshiba screen and are only making M6 players with the Samsung screen.

Does Anyone know exaclty what screen is better and why? thanks

The Samsung screen is brighter... but it's not as if you had a choice anyway

I have both a TP and an SP player
The Sp player has a brighter screen and is slightly more comfortable to watch because of that
I dont see the saturation advantage of the TP version

As the TP version is no longer made all player you buy will be SP versions.

Note that in this case cheaper doesnt mean less quality but higher quality at a lower price due to larger orders!

The pics are not a fair comparison anyway. Comparing the black to the white players will affect the perceived image since the surrounding color affects the perceived brightness of the screen. See if you can get two players of the same color, then compare them.

I prefer the samsung(SP)...besides that its the only one available so there isnt much of a choice

I did not take the pictures myself, they were links I found. However, yes I agree with you comparing two like- colours would be more fair.

I have been confused with all the different versions, SP, TP, all black, black and white.. limited editions and so on.
So just to clarify, if I were to buy an M6 out of the store today I would be buying an SP , which is a samsung screen. Even the limited editions that are entirely black (front and back) will have a samsung screen? oR Are these not available anymore?
Does, the brighter samsung screen decrease the baterry life?

Yes you would always be buying an SP which is the one with the Samsung screen.
The TP player is not made or sold anymore
Also special editions etc are SP players

The brighter Samsung screen does not decrease battery life.
Actually with the new firmware the battery life has improved

Took a picture of 2 SP players and 1 TP player.

Maybe not to easy to see the difference, but it is true as it is told. Brighter screen on SP, but a little better colors on TP. (TP is the white one on top).

If looking from an angle i think SP is better also.

I guess its imagination, but I think colors looks better on the black one

I agree... this might be ecause the contrast between the image itself and the borders around the screen is bigger as the borders are black.
This gives the idea the image stands out more
