Backlight Fix?

Hello the Forum,

I bought a supposedly dead M6 SP on eBay and discovered that its real problem is a dead backlight. If I set the font color to black and use a white background, I can just make out the display in a dark room. It otherwise functions normally.

Have tried both soft and hard resets, upgraded the firmware, but no luck.

Anybody have any experience repairing/replacing the backlight (or its inverter, which may also be the problem)?

Both the screen itself and backlight are in one unit and not that to take apart. You should aim finding a new screen then. I tried dissemble a M6 before myself but won't say it's easy.

Hi again.
No, they not the same. I remember older TP players used screens from Toshiba while SP version using screens from Samsung. They not compatible with each other.
