Hi all,
I updated to the latest firmware and all worked ok, but i tried to install a new skin (resource file) which was the wrong version
. After disconnecting from the PC the screen went black (powered off i think) and i have been unable to turn it on since.
I have tried all the usual resets and also tried the DFU tools, but the device doesn't get seen by Windows when i connect the USB lead.
Any ideas
Thanks

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsIn other topics I read that DFU tools don't work and can really kill the player. My problem is similair. Gonna try the enter button for 3 minutes tonight.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell I tried everything that was in the facts in chronological order and I feel a great urge to smash this peace of s**t against a wall. I wish I never upgraded my player. 130 euros down the drain. It makes me sick.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThen perhaps you could calm 60;down also, and start thinki ng. Updating never mussed up&# 160;anybody's player, even if  putting the wrong firmware on.  (But if you did that, 60;it'd show a white screen 60;which you never mentioned).  ;So just go to the FAQ 60;and read over all the  posts there and try out s oft reset, hard reset and  ;in last case DFU Tools a s it's described in the F AQ. It might not work on& #160;first try. Soft reset wor ks in about 15 seconds as  opposed to the 2-3 minutes. And have you even tried pressing your play button after doing the soft reset?
EDIT: Oh and tried charging yet?

If it's recognized by the PC just put the right firmware files in and restart the player.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsi've pretty much accepted my M6 as dead, but here goes.
i've tried all the methods of resets as explained in the FAQS. nothing works.
i've tried to connect the M6 to windows via DFU tools method. did not work. DFU tools could work, but I can't get far enough to work the program :[ (more specifically, windows does not show anything being connected at all).
1. occasionally, when i plug the M6 in via provided usb charger, the screen will flicker white and then the "loading..." screen flashes, then it's blank for a second, then it flashes again and repeats a few times before going back to black.
2. i left the player charged over night several times to make sure that i'm getting a full charge. i've held the play/on button for a few minutes and nothing works. i've left the player connected to the usb cord unconnected to the computer overnight as well. nothing became of these methods.
3. the battery/player gets warm if i do charge it overnight.
my guess is that the battery is scrambled. if any of you can either dissect my problem or know of the steps for me to send it in for repairs, let me know. i bought it off newegg.com in early october. i read dane-elec now has a repair center somewhere in the US.
