Hello i'm a new member here so at the beginning i'd like to say Hi ta all of You.
Now my thread:
I have a new sl version of the meizu m6 pmp player. I was curious of the new upgrades added to a new firmware, so i decided to put it into my m6.
I was doing everything exactly like manuals said .After restarting m6, on the screen appered "Upgrading Software Please Wait....." The thing is that this screen is displayed for about Two minutes, maybe little less... then player goes black and its done.. nothing Happen. PC did not see it. After turning it on, the same screen displays and here we go again.. over and over.
A second after switching it on.. i think i see default wallpaper, and then the screen with "Upgrading Firmawre" Appears.
I did not use DFU Tool... ima kind of lame in this things.. so i do not want to let my guarantee go away
Any suggestions, maybe there is a easy way to bring my meizu back To Life?
Cheers!!

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsSure. I think your upgrade failed somehow or maybe you put a wrong firmware over without notice. If the the player ever shows the green screen and ask for the resource file again, please connect it to your pc and copy it over again.
I suggest to look at mbarry's guide:
Guide: Fixing your "Bricked" Player
You might need to use DFU tools but also recheck you really are using the right firmware.
Maybe use this one. should be the right:

Also remember to use the tool made for SL.
hope this help

The green screen does not show when restarting the player.
The firmware i've choose to upgrade is the newest from meizu website dedicated to sl version.
I have used DFU tool for SL version of meizu m6, but after it upload an older fw the problem remains. When player is restarting the screen with notification shows all over again..... Maybe the cause of problem is that there was only about 30mb of free space when i was upgrading the FW?
The hard reset did not work either. Everything i have read here on meizu forum did not work.
DFU tool work only on XP windows... on my win7rc is a problem with drivers to Blues DFU USB Device.
Is it hopeless case?

Turn the player off, press >|| for about 10 seconds and then try to format the player (press |<< and >|| until you see a the "formatting" screen).
If it works you'll get the "no resource" message in the end and you can copy the 'resource.bin' (for your previously installed firmware version or both files from a new version) to your player.

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsI joined the Win 7 RC as well not long ago, so I'm able to follow you.
It won't find drivers for me too but that's very like normal the first time you connect it. Like on XP, you need to manual specify the location of the drivers before it will work. They inside the folder where you placed DFU tools on your computer.
I just tried point Win 7 to them but unfortunately it won't recognize them at all.
Damn I'm not sure how to work this out now. It not seems to be compatible with my 64-bit platforms.
This what I did:
To manually install the driver in Windows 7, go to "Control Panel" and find the icon that manage devices installed on your PC. Inside you should find the “Blues DFU USB Device”. Double-click on it and find the tap that let you update the drivers. Choose to point it manually and then follow the guide of DFU tools to locate the correct files:

Let me know if this work out for you or not, otherwise I'm curently trying search for another solution.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts@my zoo: pressing your key combination did not work at all. nothing happened. ;/
@The Torminator: I know where the update driver section is, but the problem is that my 64bit win7rc do not want to install drivers that are in the DFU tools directory. It says that "Windows can not complete the driver update, the cause is that windows can not find driver that is dedicated to this Device".. or something more like it... well.... i smell dead meizu..
There is more... i've connected meizu to my brother pc with xp... DFU have uploaded all the files to the player... (the oldest fw on the main meizu site). I switched it on and.... the screen with annoying notice: upgrading firmware..... aaaaaghhh!
Then the screen goes down but when i look deeply on it.. i see this notification that is stil there!
For about 4min.. thet it dissapears.
also when i put the usb in my 7rc in the player... the player started to blink white for about one minute.
EDIT: GUYS! I DID IT... :D Its working! Low level format then uploaded source file from 2.004.4 fw... Uff
I'm exhausted

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsNice you got it work again.
Your welcome.
As for Win 7 it was exactly same which happened to me I'm afraid.
The problem, DFU tools don't really work on Windows 7.
Btw I just recently discovered we got a program out there that able to emulate an Virtual XP on Windows 7 machines. EDIT: It unfortunately don't with the RC version, you need the final OS before this work. It might be another way around that maybe worth checking out, but I can't get it work right now unfortunately so I'm not sure it does any good in this case.
It primary made to let older program run again without compatibilities issues but such a thing might also have some limits, but this could sort of helpful for new Win 7 users.
For all interest, you can read more about it here.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx
Otherwise I will would suggest finding an computer which is running XP and then trying use DFU tools to recover it.

DFU tools work flawlessly with 32bit Win7 final, so it's either the rc or (more likely) the 64bit version that is not compatible.
