Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsi'm sure its not easy to get the drivers working, but as soon as there is any news i'm certain we'll hear it first on meizume, so i will keep an eye on this thread in the future, and hopefully rockbox for the m6 will be available before the m8 is sold here :-)

The M3 with the Wolfson DAC is still referred to as the M3 around here, maybe it's different in the Rockbox forums.
@VCF It would be somewhat easier, but the pixels are differently oriented, even if the display is made ny the same company. If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Don't worry, we're still working on it. Don't know if you've already seen this: Meizu M6 "miniplayer"

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThere is one obstacle preventing having a usable rockbox on the meizu m3, the unknown Flash Translation Layer (data on the flash is scattered in a complex way - to be able to read the files written by the original firmware, we need to know how the data on the flash is organized) - the other things are not too difficult to finnish.
I have started to reverse engineer the flash translation layer, but it will take a long time (perhaps months).

Try getting a few other Devs to work on it. It will go by a lot quicker then.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsReply #50 by sotux (scroll down) Had me thinking... because his reply states that M6SP has an Sanyo FM Radio chip, but I don't remember seeing anything Sanyo branded in my M6SP, so I just opened my player and it definately has got a Philips TEA5760 in it, no signs of any Sanyo chips. Could it have something to do with the fact that the 8GB model was released later?

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe FTL is a samsung proprietary piece of software (also used - perhaps a different version - on the iphone). Maybe it's in fact samsung's XSR (extended sector remapper), or something similar.
edit: the FTL is called "whimory" in the sources

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Poststhe devs are needing some detailed informations how to access the nand memory. i just thought you could ask the chinese support again, like you did to get the datasheet. you got this from the support, didn't you?i dont ud what do you want. the datasheet? there is a link in this thread
but denes said that this code is property of samsung, so i guess they don't want to share this with someone else (but the datasheet is/was confidential too
).

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsi don't know. maybe vcf got kidnapped as he was trying to get confidential informations from samsung
. i just kidding. but it seems that he had no luck in getting some informations about the ftl.
denes is still reengineering the nand i guess (it's a lot of work). and i think he's the only one who is actual working on the meizu port...
