I got to say, despite my inital reservations about android, what HTC have done with this phone is very very nice. The customisations are just what stock android needed, flash support, multitouch and customisability is very nice too. With this and the Pre i'm really glad to see some actual proper touch based phone competition for the iphone.

The only issues I have with this device is the CPU is severely lacking. A 600mhz Qualcomm CPU would certainly get obliterated by the Cotex A8 in the iPhone or Pre and it is bound to be much slower. It is also a bit too chunky. Despite this though it looks to be a really nice device.

Meizu really need to work on their software game if they are ever going to get to this level.

dude, sorry to sound somewhat harsh... I usually come here every once in a while because work ain't giving me as many breaks as before. I, however get myself hard at work whenever is needed mostly with bots spamming the boards...

Even if I'm not more than 1% of my online time here, 99% of that 1% in mm, is just to read how much you prefer other brands/products over meizu ones, how cooler you see whatever product comes out and bashing any issue/problem is found in M8's SW.

Do you really/honestly/truly have a reason for that (please don't tell us is you pushing meizu to go over the extra mile or that whenever any other product comes out, you write about it to let us all know... we already have engadget for that matter)

As we say, this site is intended to be a community to support Meizu products and help other users to sort out their problems... What would be the help you provide with these comments?

Really, I don't want to be a d*** but, really... be constructive if possible otherwise what's the point on writing something that no one will pay attention to?
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

It's a valid comparison to Meizu's current firmware offering, from what I've gathered from this forum seems that the firmware is rather lacking, and it's less usable than other phones, in terms of software. Meizu may have done a good or bad thing with basing MyMobile off of WinCE 6.0, and the way they customized it for a finger based interface seems well done. It just seems that the underlying software workings have hiccups more often than other smartphone OSes.

Meizu's firmware seems to work for the most part, but some of the crucial small things seem to be implemented awkwardly. It's just that this phone is more for a tech enthusiast than the average consumer, since the amount of poking around you'll do is significantly more than you'd do with any other smartphone, and the Meizu BBS and us are pretty much the only support customers will get, since Meizu hasn't gone international yet.

Of course, what I'm saying is highly debatable, and this is just my point of view.

No offence mate but you are chatting complete crap. I have been a member of this forum since January 2007. I was here when the M8 had only just gone into development. Like many people I waited years for this product and supported Wong and Meizu when many people said the M8 would never even come out and that Wong was lying to the fans.

I've even written articles on my blog to try and dispel myths relating to the M8 and give a more balanced view point and maybe try and even help meizu break the 'clone' stigma in the west:

Them Ones There: Tech Check: Meizu M8 - The Great Pretender

After soo many hours devoted to discussion, I was dissapointed when the M8
came out and was esentially unfinished and the software was heavily buggy. Nevertheless, I would say around 80% of my posts have been showing either support for Meizu or having useful constructive discussions about their products or trying to spread useful fact based info. I havn't even posted much at all in the last 6 monthes.

I'm not sure if you realise but a forum is meant for not only tech support it's also meant for free open discussion. I was posting news about this htc phone as there are some knowledgable people on here and I wanted to hear some of their opinions. I put it in the off topic part of the forum, that is what it is here for after all! Have you not ever seen this section?

I'm not sure why you are accusing me of only bashing meizu's software issues and saying 'how much cooler other devices are'. Since when has comparing Meizu to other products, talking about other products, or talking about problems with Meizu software not been allowed on this forum? Don't remember anything in the rules about that? So why are you getting all militant?

Every one on here who spends any time knows that the M8 has significant software problems particularly for users outside mainland china this is a FACT. And when you wait 2 years for a product and spend so much time discussing it then it comes out and is not up to scratch it is going to piss you off a bit, but that hasn't stopped me still taking an interest in Meizu. Mainly because I still live in hope that we will see significant software improvements as I like many aspects of the M8 (media playback features, Ui aesthetic, customisability etc etc). Plus the fact I like discussing stuff with some of the people on here.

Considering the amount of time I have been on here trying to spread useful knowledge and educate people about meizu and having useful and interesting discussion you would think that I wouldn't have to deal with people like you getting a rat in their pants about a few comments, which as I said before have been very few and far between in the last 6 monthes.

I'm pretty dissapointed tbh, go look at my post count in the last few monthes. you will find it has been very low. So for you to come on here and make out you always see me bashing meizu and saying other brands are cooler is just a bare faced lie. I feel embaressed for you.

I'm actually interested in a lot of tech apart from meizu, just like many other people in the community here, if you don't want people to discuss other devices, don't have a section for it. You may also maybe want to put a note in the rules saying 'you can not talk about the M8's software problems more than 3 or 4 times in 6 monthes'. What a joke...
