    Tech Stores/ Malls in China

I'll be in Beijing on the 1st week of February. Can you give me addresses of trusted tech stores / malls in Beijing?

Here are some of the things I have to buy:

    1. Sony Vaio Laptop Battery Replacement
    2. Turbo Sim / Stealth Sim .. whatever those unlocking sims are called

    Thanks in advance!

The place to go is definitely "Zhongguancun" in "Haidian Qu". Just take the subway to "Wudaokou" and change to a cab there. Tell the driver to get you to "Zhongguancun" (中关村) probably starting with a place like "e-Shijie" (e世界).

You will find all you want there and even more. Trust me!

i am also visiting beijing, nanjing and shanghai in march.
since i will work there for at least 2 weeks i will be in the need of a laptop. (my laptop at home is broken, so i can't bring it)
could you tell me the average price for a laptop in shanghai for example?
just average specs like 1gb ram, min. 40gb hard drive. (although a big screen is useful for my work, so price for a 17" laptop would be good too).
is it easy to get an english windows with it or should i just bring along my own windows cd?

    thanks for answers

For tech stuff, truthfully, it is not that much cheaper in China. Also have a think about warranty. The only "cheap" ones you can get are imitations, and they are sometimes just as good as the real one.

iversonjack is right. You can get something at a pretty good price of I would guess maybe around 5000 to 6000 RMB but that's nothing you wouldn't be able to get on eBay or some webshop too. Your best chance is a good skill in bargaining. Good luck!

I'm sure you can do that in those cities but better ask someone who can speak Chinese before you try to do it yourself.
