yes but saying the "luxurious car" is crap compared to a "non-luxurious car" is really naive.

Really?... what figure would you use to tell of a MP4 player that cost US$ 500.- compared with one which cost US$ 150?

Apple products are great, that i would agree. But there not great in all aspects of every feature they add. The main thing i like about ipod's is their rich intuitive interface and how smooth you navigate.. the build quality, BUT the music quality alone on the Meizu is enough to keep me away from apple.

If i was to buy an ipod product it would be for something it offers that none other can do better.. so what the iPod Touch has is their connectivity and Touch interface. its astonishing.

This is good, coz i sure hope Meizu developers are reading these kinds of threads and working-on up coming products better than ipod's.

Seeing that the M8 is going to run on Windows I can only see more software problems coming up for Meizu.
All chinese PMPs work on microshit software to some extent. That will be hard to change, as they are too lazy to properly code their own. That's one reason for the general bugginess of those devices.

and by the way: the meizu can't even play mp3 files properly, I mean how come an mp3player has bugs like stuttering, tapping, bad id3 tags management, PuPu (yea poopin) bugs, bad sorting etc.?

and yes i know there ARE workarounds like converting everything to ogg. what i am going to do anyway. but the average user just expects a product "WORKING OUT OF THE BOX".
I mean, would u like to have a TOASTER which will burn your toasts from time to time? (stuttering bug)
or toasting at variable heat, making bread nontoasted or burned? (bad sorting bug?)
making some weird noises (PuPu bug)

just a comparison.

i don't want to f++k with my toaster everytime i get up, now do you?
and this is the case with every product and the reason people were so often bitchin at windows.

and yea, video @ 20fps does suck, 25 fps is the absolute minimum

movie playback? well if you really need it and I consider you to do so if you list it as an important feature - then install rockbox. THERE you will have double functionality leaving meizu players behind in terms of hackability and audio format support and you will have VIDEO support.
Stuttering? Hey, Winamp does that sometimes too.
"PuPu" noise? This has been fixed.
Bad ID3 tag management? What do you mean about it???
Bad sorting? If the inability to sort by genre means "bad sorting" for you, then you should learn what folders are used for. Seriously.

Yes, everybody is bitching at windoze. I do it too, and i usually have serious reasons to. But it's coz everyone uses windoze, and microshit doesn't get their lazy asses to work and come up with a properly usable operating system (vista=unnecessary and slow bloat) coz they have enough money not to care about what people really want.

But there are many PDAs that use windoze mobile, and no one bitches at HP or Palm when they announce a new PDA with windoze mobile. Think about it a little.

20FPS not enough for a 2.4 inch screen? I don't think so. Go buy a laptop.

I have a Toshiba Portege 4000 and even though it's old it still gets ~5 hours on a charge and can play just about any media (unless you want HD, which on a 12.1 inch screen would be useless anyway). Oh, and it has wifi too.

I think almost 90% of the people that buy the ipod touch never use the wifi. They buy it coz it's made by apple not coz it has that and that and that.

Take the shuffle - it doesn't even have a display, and has a SigmaTel chipset inside (SigmaTel chips are very good performers but their firmware department is TERRIBLE, i have a SigmaTel player and when i play a song from the file browser it fucks up the random mode, the playlist, or both). Yet people bought the shuffle when it was out, and i think there are some who still have it coz they don't need more.

A PMP is a PMP, damn it! So what if the M7 doesn't have wifi, 100 gigs of space, multi-touch interface, blah blah blah. It will be a PMP, so it will be designed to PLAY MUSIC and WATCH VIDEOS and have a neat user interface and great sound quality while still being affordable, and that's just what it'll do.

PS. IMO, the M6SL beats any ipod in sound quality and is almost as good in terms of user interface. My only problem with it is that fonts aren't anti-aliased and look a bit pixelized, but that's all, i love everything else about it. :D

Well. I'm thinking about getting a iTouch actually. The GUI is amazing. And so is the WiFi(internet, youtube) function. It's really cool if you jailbreak it, to chat on MSN or play roms with emulators. I don't know if you void the warranty if you jailbreak it? Is there any way to restore it to original settings?

Also, for people in UK/EU, you should import it from USA, I mean if you know someone that can ship you it. And, when they are going to ship it, tell them to mark the package with a value lower than 30 usd and mark it as a gift, to avoid taxes. I think that apple products have a worldwide warrannty so it is smarter to import it I guess. :P

comparing a ipod touch to an meizu m6 doesnt feel totally right, the m6 is not as updated as the ipod touch with all its features, and was meant to challenge the ipod nano

The ipod touch is a very nice piece, the engineering on it is truly remarkable. There is no other mp3 player on the planet with a long battery life, large 3.5 inch screen, wireless and advanced touch technology in such a slim enclosure. I just wish you could get one that supported xvid and didn't require itunes. This will always be my problem with apple devices. Plus the fact that 1/4 of the planet probably own one as well. There is something I find quite irritating about having a device so many other people own......it would make me feel like another apple drone.

Also no matter what anyone says about the M6 the fact is that the ipod firmware is coded a lot better and simply works better. This is expected though considering the astronomical R&D budgets Apple have. Meizu have still done well considering how small a company they are. The truth is though when it comes to software engineering they cannot compete with one of the biggest and most powerful software and hardware manafactueres in the world......and people should not expect them to be able to.
