You simply have no idea of what you're talking about... iPod touch is simply a browser.
M8 is a browser, a FM radio, a GPS, a PDA and a cell phone... you know what all this devices are?
This is the ultimate stupid comparison... a Cowon D2 cost half the price of a iPod touch
Anyway... if we put aside the screen of iTouch which is truly amazing and all the paraphernalia of effects like flipping accelerometer and of course Wi-Fi... Cowon D2 is more machine than a iPod touch
Maybe this sound surprising.. but D2 sports a impressive sound, excellent skinning and managing of flash programs and skins. just to mention some goodies of one of the most perfect players in the range of 2.5" screen size.
A less silly comparison is among the impressive iPod touch with a real machine as it is a Cowon Q5. Price are similar.
Indeed iPod touch is the right machine for simple minds easily impressionable with spectacular effects... again... is nothing more than a portable browser enveloped with technological stuff... of the kind that is used to impress friends and parents.Last edited by DaremoS; 01-05-2008 at 07:23 PM.

at the end of the day I'm no apple fan but it does have one of the best web browsers available on any player and still supports loseless audio (apple loseless) and h.264 video and many other apps are available on it if jail broken. Nevertheless, I KNOW THAT MANY OTHER PLAYERS HAVE MORE FEATURES AND CODEC SUPPORT, the original point I was trying to make (for the 3rd time now) is that there is no device that offers this much in such a SLIM ENCLOSURE. I was focussing on the SIZE of it more than anything. I was trying to emphasise the fact that they crammed in a lot of technology in such a slim enclosure. I know many other products have more features but they are not 8mm thin with a 320x480 multitouch screen and have wifi and a top end web browser.
this is the last time i'm going to try and make this point as this is the 3rd time......I have tried to make it as clear as possible. So If you don't understand by now you probably never will.Last edited by sere83; 01-06-2008 at 12:42 AM.

oh my god......not at all. ALL I WAS SAYING WAS THAT IT WAS A REMARKABLE PIECE OF ENGINEERING, I was simply giving credit where credit was due. It is not easy to make an 8mm thin device with such a large screen and all the functionality apple have included. There is no other device in the world I am aware of that is so thin with such a large screen and all that functionality (yes I know there are other players with more bloody functionality but they are not 8mm thin, they are far more bulky)
That does not mean I will buy one or I will buy any apple product for that matter. Or that I prefer style over function. I have never owned anything apple and have not chosen too because it does not support the functions or format support I desire in a player (drag and drop file transfer, xvid, ogg, flac etc)

Calm down... I understand your enthusiasm with this player... anybody would have it...

Indeed iPod have been a success in sales and reviews and comments... but for people that have some experience with PMP or MP4 players... such enthusiasm dies soon.
Apple stuff is like those figures that show an artist image... it's just the image... but content?... nothing.
My cousin owns an iPod Nano and plays her music all the time. She will never have a challenge beside the initial use of iTunes... no interest for firmware upgrade or any new function or some possibility of make her player look a bit different... some people are happy with such limited players. In fact she is not fond of anything but her career... for that people Apple stuff is the right player. I imagine her playing her music in an iPod or in a can with a string.
... gosh!!!... I recall her claiming for a FM radio when she have been tired of what she transfer to her 4Gb nano.
Concerning technology in iPod stuff... there is something that everybody should know... all that technology is from any country which is not exactly USA or Apple and was used by the creative of Apple to sell their product... lots of invent used by Apple comes by Chinese... and surely the first to be offered a new invent... guess who will be the target?... or you really think that this was created by some Apple inventor?
For instance accelerometer which is the trick that turns the image to horizontal and vertical have been in the market for years. More know is it use to stabilize camcorders. Apple uses LIS302DL, the same as Teclast T59, and was patented by a Swiss company named ST Electronics... only god knows who invented it. It's not an Apple invent.
Concerning this trick, sincerely after 20 times showing the trick to your friends... it will be really useful?... is nice when is free or cheap :D
I have rotation and zoom of images in my Cowon D2 activated by touchscreen... I've used it just to know it exist... what else for?
... all this features comes in my cheap Actions ATJ-2135, activated by buttons.
iPod touch is too much paraphernalia and marketing... the core of their existence.

People, stop being so much anti-apple. iPod Touch is a great mediaplayer with some extra functions. I'd call it a PDA when it's jailbreaked.
I'm thinking about getting one (importing from the USA) but I haven't decided yet. I also bought a Teclast T39 some days ago. >.>

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI have both, an Ipod Touch and a M6.
The Ipod Touch $299 is fantastic. You can't compare.
I have my ipod touch jailbroken, wich means I have everything that an iphone has except the cellphone feature. Yes I have calendar, games, browser, all pda functions.
Apart of those functions, I have Voice Over IP and I can make calls from places that have Wifi.
I really don't care the phone part since that requires a montly payment.
I like my Meizu, which I haven't played since I bought my Ipod Touch, but I have to admit the Meizu M8 seems like a never ending story.

YouTube, a great web browser, best GUI ever, the motion sensors, WiFi. And endless functions if you jailbreak it, like maps, IM (msn etc.), emulators (GBA and SNES working good, ps1 still slow but should be fixed in the future), other games, VOIP apps(!). It is thin, sleek and big screened. Who can resist that?

Btw, I'm enjoying my Teclast T39 a lot.
