Go there. That is the ENGLISH manual for the Supertalent Vidego28 (which is a rebranded Onda VX858). This is actually the VX858 I have. They also have the software available on the supertalent website for you to download. There is actually a piece of software you must install to update the firmware.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI received my Onda VX858LE yesterday and I was pretty impressed... I'm running Vista and had no problem installing the device.
The included AVI-Converter software works great, I converted 20 movie files last night, and they play perfectly (Also, the fast-forward function on the player is very accurate).
There are only two things that I find weird :
1. Does anyone else hear the sounds coming from the player's speaker when the headphones are connected ?
2. When I go in the Settings and set the "Beep" to Off, it is back On when I restart the player.
Other than that, this player is pretty smooth ! The touchpad isn't as bad as some people reviewed.
By the way, is there a firmware upgrade for the VX858LE yet ?Last edited by frankov; 10-31-2007 at 02:58 PM.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI looked on the Onda website again, and I THINK there's a firmware upgrade for V1 and V2... But since it's in chinese, I'm not quite sure what this means.
The last firmware in the list is this one :
VX858LE v1.0.40版本固件(适用于V1及V2版本机型)
Since V1 and V2 are both written in the desc, I'm assuming this works on both, but I just want to make sure before I do something terribly terribly wrong
My VX858LE is a V2 and it currently has firmware 00.00.0000 (2007-08-31)
Anyone dared ? :D
//-----------EDIT-----------//
Gooooooood, now I understand. The firmware you recommended also works on the V2, according to a post on this site :
http://www.mympxplayer.org/skinning-...e-vp39673.html
Anyway, I'm downloading it right now but it should take a while. Damn you Onda website !!!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThe firmware installed just fine, it fixes the "Bee" settings but I still hear the sounds while I have my headphones in
other than that, it's quite nice

A question Frankov...
you installed v01.00.0040 in your V2 player?
if it is so... you are lucky to have Microsoft PlayFX in your player which is awesome.
Activate it you'll have a impressive change in sound.
One bad new... such noise in speakers don't look as a firmware problem... for me is a failure in your player... disconnection of speakers in rockchip players is a software order... that should be working ok.
I think on a bad solder or some leak of energy.
My suggestion is to ask the provider for a replacement

Too late Exekias... many of us have VX858 and in my case I am really happy because this player deliver awesome image and sound... is true what you said that touch-screen is slow and software is primitive as it have to be a rockchip player.
But this player is solid as a rock, I mean consistent with few bugs and deliver the best sound due to its Wolfson WM8750 DAC. Soon some new features will be added as Microsoft PlayFX to deliver even a better sound.
There are lots of users like me that will pay more for a good sound/image player with few features but do its functions well, instead of a player full of functions and features that don't work appropriately.
Recently I've discovered that this player can be charging through USB and playing at the same time... sorry if others players have this feature... but this is new for me and very useful and handy.
Another nice feature in a crappy player... :D:D:D:D:D:D

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsGreetings,
Has anyone found a good case or skin for the Vx858? I have looked at several sites, but no one seems to carry any type of extras for the Vx858 or any of it's clones
Thanks.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI am thinking about one too, but idk what one to go with. the vx858, the 858LE, the 878, the 868, or the 9 series. I think the 9 series are older, but idk. What is the best onda out currently? Or, what would be a different touch mp4 player you would recommend for sub $150?
