M6 is no longer my favourite MP3 player...

    I just bought my wife a Clix2.

It is just absolutely mindblowingly fantastic... Best of all for me is how logical an flexible the navigation is.

If you are playing a song and go back to the track list while listening, then if you want to go back to that song and you re-select it in the track list, it does not start the song again. You can browse and view .txt and .jpg files in the root of the MP3 album folder, unlike the stupid DELETE or CANCEL you get with M6.

The flash menus are gorgeous, screen has a full 180 degree veiwing angle, sound is excellent and connecting to podcasts is so easy with their very well written software that comes with the player.

I have an M6 and so does my son. I have also bought one for my best friend... but I tell you what. There is no comparison. The software on this iriver thing is so well written, so good looking, so logical.

Meizu, catch a wake up guys! Your firmware upgrade gave us some album art, but there is a LOT more to do. I hope you buy a clix and see how it should be done.

    Cheers.
    Mark.

i can admit the clix is much better, but guess what? they're in the business for years. Meizu is just a new company but it catches alot of attention to many people it's good isnt' it with their first miniplayer they're able to make their product to the USA without any promotion, with iriver, it takes awhile to get into the American market. Although their product is really good but their sales is so so. They're only famous in Korea and other country.... Iriver just recently caught up with the market with their Clix players and S10. Before, they didn't do great.

You can't play the music or view files from the browser? I can see what you mean about .jpg files but the music and .txt files have the play/open option when in browser. Do you have the newest firmware on your players?

Not sure what the price point will be on the 8GB, but if reasonable it might be my next player. Was waiting for M6 in 8GB, but already have 4GB version. Nice to have another variation of good flash player. Anyone know when 8GB clix coming to US?

I too was waiting for the 8GB but could not wait any longer so I just got a 4GB which I am wanting to sell now. But the 8GB is supposed to be here in the US about middle of this month.

The only good thing about iriver clix is the physical interface and maybe the GUI.

anything else is just the same or worse then miniplayer. Consider too, the price.

Hi there iversonjack, strangely enough I sent my best buddy an M6, and he lives in indooroopilly, in brisbane!

The clix is better on many counts, in fact only the only feature M6 has over clix2 is synced lyric display (it can do it in Korean only at present). The software is superb, drag and drop to convert video. 30frames per second. You can play wmv as well as flash video and xvid of course. Flash games, alarm clock, easy software to download podcasts directly to the player, firmware updating software (you run it and it updates online) Then there is the ability to browse back to the MP3 folder when you are listening to a track and look at the full screen album art, or lyrics or text etc, then go back to your music by clicking the song you are listening to. With M6 you have to wait 30 seconds to go back to the music screen and cannot view pictures in the MP3 folder. The clix3 also sees ID3 images, so no need for other images, unless you want bigger ones, then you are one click away from seeing ALL album art for that album. I could probably go on, but i forget, and my wife only got it two days ago...

M6 is a removable drive and no software is needed. Now how good is that... So many players need their own software

You can do that too, with the Clix 2, it supports UMS. Just that is has good software bundled with it.

M6 is the first Meizu Player and its on top.Clix 2 is good even maybe better. One day there'll be another flash player better than clix 2...Its life.So m6 is still good and meizu is still developping the firmware.I bought my 8Go for 130 Euros (about 150-160 US Dollars).Could i hope more for the price?I dont think.

Overall I think the Clix is a better player. I chose the Meizu because
    A) I didn't want to wait for the Clix to come out in Europe,

    B) it was way cheaper and contains all the functions I need and

    C) iRiver service sucks! If your player breaks down you're supposed to send it to the service centre (which in my case is in Berlin, Germany while I live in Rotterdam, Holland) and then HOPE they repair it. Sometimes they do, but I once received my player back in exactly the same state I sent it in, without any explanation. They just put it in another box, wrapped some iRiver tape 'round it and sent it back.

Compare that with this. When my meizu broke down they just gave me another one right away.

Maybe it is better, but there's a differance: the price. Btw, Teclast T39 might be better and cheaper than this!

not true. meizu has had other players before but the m6 is the first to be recognized outside china, i believe. notice that we have a section in the forums for the legacy models of meizu mp3 players.

aside: don't you guys think that this thread should be in the off-topic section as it's primarily about the clix2? just a thought.

yeah, sorry, i didnt mean to start a war.

    i do love my m6.

my motivation is to get meizu to improve the firmware a lot more than they did recently.

    thanks all,

I think the clix is a great player but these are my reasons for not buying one.
    1. I am buying a mezu for its touch sensitive controls, because less button pressing means less clicks, or should I say clix XD
    2. price meizu is cheeped.
    3. I 8gb isn't out yet and when it will it's mrsp will be a massive 250usd
    4. I think the m6 looks awesome, and the clix2 isn't my style.
    5. 2.2 inch screen is close to 2.4 but I still would rather have the 2.4

This is subjective, you can't say one plyaer is better than another. It's just what floats your boat XD

while agree the clix2 is a very nice player you have to realize its also significantly more expensive
a 4GB clix is similar to an 8GB meizu
so its only expected that for the extra money in a new model of player youget new(better) stuff...

besides that Iriver has a weird policy regarding where to release players
the clix never made it to europe for example while other(less good imo) iriver players did)

yeah. definitely. and by telling everyone how great the clix is, is supposed motivation for meizu, right?

i like the meizu, because it's easy to encode.

im sure i would have less problems with the clix 2 and I think its a better product then the meizu m6 because of the features it has, or it seems that way to me.

But those features come at a price, i would rather have a pretty damn good 8gb player for 150 then paying another $100 just for those features.

Dont get me wrong if I had an extra 100 bucks to spend on my mp3 player I would get the clix 2.
