I would like to know what chip of audio has iRiver Clix... I had some time ago an iRiver X10 which sound where simply average and does not fulfil my expectations concerning sound quality while the sound of my Meizu impressed me from the very beginning (later would come this issue of stuttering ).

Anyway does anybody knows what audio chip are using iRiver devices?

I find playlists of "recently added music" , "most played music" and "recently played music" quite lacking on the Meizu.

For you to know... most MP4 / PMP uses a special audio chip to deliver its sound. Here is a very rough example:

iPod uses Wolfson WM8721 / WM8731
iRiver Clix uses Wolfson WM8731
Samsung uses Wolfson WM8731
Onda uses Wolfson WM8750
iAudio X5 uses Texas Instrument TLV320AIC23B
Meizu uses Philips UDA1380TT
Cowon D2 uses Wolfson WM8985
Source

This chip are mostly Europeans. Some devices do not use them like Rockchip and some Japanese brands Sony among them. Supposedly to use a dedicated chip denotes an intention to deliver a better sound.

The sound in this chips can be customized by the user (via equalizers) and can be also customized by the manufacturer (via firmware) to bring a certain signature or sound characteristic to its players.

Finally... the number of the chip of a manufacturer (like Wolfson for instance) implies a new generation of the chip... higher means newer.

Which I know as better is iAudio X5 with a special audio chip TI TLV320AIC23B... I haven't tried this player or any other with this chip.
All the other chips are known for me... being the best by far Cowon D2, followed closely by Meizu M3/M6 (I have the suspicion that stuttering problem deals with Philips chip).

Most common and acceptable are devices which uses WM8750 which is the most used of the Wolfson company.

Average and non attractive IMHO are those that uses VM8731 and lower. or no audio chip at all. I get rid of an iRiver X10 due to its poor quality. I am suspicious that doesn't uses a dedicated audio chip.

Concerning Creative, according to what I know of sound chips, their Zen players should deliver a great sound as it uses a chip recognized by its quality Texas Instruments TI TLV320AIC23B.
