    Decision Needed To Be Made!!!

    Teclast T29 8gb vs a Meizu M6 4gb.

I'm sure this dilemma has come across these boards or other boards alot. And I've seen the pros and cons of both. Yet I just can't decide.

T29: Smaller, which is a plus for me... great red black look. And I can get a 8gb version the same price as a 4gb m6... seems tempting. The firmware and functions LACK alot compared to the M6. And, i'm very worried that the joystick cannot handle the wear and tear inside my pocket all the time. I've had bad experiences with joysticks on cellphones. And since I'm ordering overseas, warranty would be a big hassle.

M6: Seems alot more durable, and as i've seen, the more recommend since it has such an advanced firmware and GUI compared to that of Teclast. It's looks and size is still okay, but I much prefer the T29. Kind of looks like an ipod though; which i don't want although the black one is okay.

Which one should I take? Also, does either take external microsd/SD cards?

Thanx for any help i can get.

You're already biased. Look at what you wrote. "but I much prefer the T29."
So why are you asking us to give you our opinions.

This is a meizu forum, thus, everyone that replies will say the meizu is better, which by the way, is true.

Well; the fact that the M6 has much more advanced firmware+GUI is tempting. I'm just see if those CONS of the teclast would be worry some.

I have both players and have not used the T29 once since I bought the M6 7 months ago. Nothing wrong with the T29 just the M6 is better, better screen, better controls, better battery life, better GUI overall just more pleasing to use.

hmmm, that sounds convincing. how much bigger is the m6 compared to t29; could u perhaps show a picture of both? and is the joystick hard to use on the t29? Thanx for an 'honest'? answer. hahaha

There is a bit of a learning curve for the joystick, initially it is very clumsy and inaccurate and takes a few days to get comfortable with.

As I said nothing wrong with the T29 it's just not as refined, a little cheaper feeling, not quite the finish of the M6 nothing major just little things like the Power\Play, AB\Record buttons rattle, the stainless steel backing and the front panel are not quite flush. No protective coating on th T29 either but then as you point out it is slightly cheaper than the M6.

There is also only $30.00 difference between the 8GB T29 ($159) and the 8GB
    M6 ($189)

amen to that, the GUI of the T29 is terrible. I actually sold the T29 because of the horrible looks and control of the GUI and sucky firmware. Also the video output is fuzzy compared to the M6

The joystick will stay fine i think, its pretty sturdy yet alows for lousy controls compared t the smooth fast touchpad of the M6

The M6 is the better player without a doubt. Neither the T29 or M6 take memorycards

Since I'm selling both brands, I can say that everything is pretty much true regarding the differences between the M6 and T29. Meizu has a better GUI, fit/finish/feel, firmware. Clarity of the M6 will be better in video because of the higher res screen.

As for the joystick, it's pretty sturdy as Job said, I wouldn't worry about it's longevity. The only thing that does irk me just a little with the Meizu is the sensitivity of the touchpad, which can be overly touchy at times.

It really depends on what you want to do with it. If storage and music is your main concern, then 8GB will be your answer. And the price difference is almost $60 between the 8GB M6 - $189 (HOD) and 8GB T29 - $133 at my store.

Alright; the consensus is m6 so I shall go with that.... but one last thing; how about the c280 compared to m6? at jarmarcs... same price same screen size... which is better? Again...goes down to firmware i believe? and m6>c280?

    forget the c280..
The controls are horrendous and the GUI is as ugly as with the t29
The c280 shouldn't have been released untill they improved the controls.

with the c280 it takes 2 ,3 sometimes 4 presses on one button to get it to do what you want. Very frustrating
Most of the time the controls dont respond while at other moment LITERALLY blowing on them(as they are heat sensetive) triggers a response.

personally if id have to choose between the T29 and the newer c280 id go for the T29. Atleast that one has responsive controls.

Neither the T29 or the C280 come close to the M6 though

    I had the

Thanks for all the quick replies guys. This is a very helping and warm community. Hopefully I'll be purchasing the m6 and be back to contribute. If i do end up with the t29; i'll still be lurking if i ever get a m6 or any of their newer models. Thanx!

same opinion here, I haven't tested the C280 though but, I have had two M6, a t29 and a C260 (previous version of the C280), for me, there's no comparaison point on look and overall feel, in which M6 is way better by FAR. T29's joystick is very inaccurated at the begging as others said and hell I hate when I cannot choose what to listen to in a cold night with the C260
Internet has an answer for every question out there, not likely to be always the answer you're looking for.

    amen to that!
if you dont like the controls of the T29 you will go nuts over teh controls of the C280...its far worse...
M6 is the best player of the bunch

not to say that the m6 has perfect controls well because it doesnt, but i chose the m6 because the price to features and looks seemed like the best value. I wasnt expecting everything to be perfect because i didnt pay the price for everything to be perfect. I still dont know if I did the right thing considering i might have been able to afford the clix 2 but i still didnt play with it
