Similar to the Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus thread, what do you want to see in the phone, from hardware to software and internals. This is my most anticipated phone of 2012 *fanboys faint* and I will buy it if it's any better than the Galaxy Nexus or Galaxy S II.
Personally, I want the look of the Galaxy Nexus, the internals of the Galaxy S II, and Ice Cream Sandwich.
What about the rest of you?

Thanked 46 Times in 41 PostsThis is what I'd want:
- Same style as GSII but less plastic feeling, perhaps thinner
- 4.5" SuperAMOLED+ HD display (i.e. same as Galaxy Nexus, but not PenTile)
- Quad core Exynos 5250 SoC
- 1800mAh battery or larger
- On-screen buttons and running ICS
- Ultra thin bezel so that it remains the same width/height as the GSII.
- High quality camera sensor with flash, preferably from Sony. I don't care about MP rating, I just want quality images.
- A top quality audio DAC.
- Unlocked bootloader
- Reasonable price

Thanked 46 Times in 41 PostsYeah probably dual-core, because the new Exynos uses the ARM Cortex-A15 architecture which is already more powerful per clock than the Tegra 3.

Thanked 14 Times in 10 PostsLet's just resurrect this thread until shortly after May 3rd! Is anybody planning to buy it, and how rubbish was that 'teaser' they released just yesterday? I'm still highly anticipating May 3rd, despite the fact I have 4 IB exams on May 3rd and 4th. I'll get though it somehow.

Thanked 46 Times in 41 PostsYeah I'm buying this. I've held out as long as I can, I can't wait for Meizu to fix the M9.
These are the specifications I'm expecting:
1.4GHz Exynos 4412 /w Mali-400 clocked at 400MHz.
1GB of RAM
4.7" Super AMOLED HD+ display
16GB storage + MicroSD
On-screen buttons and small bezel
~2000mAh battery (might be non-removable)
Heavily optimised ICS based TouchWiz OS
NFC
I've heard people complain about the choice of the 4412, but it's a really nice chip. Leaked benchmarks show that it beats everything currently on the market except the iPad 3 SoC.
If this is indeed the phone, I'll buy it for sure. I'll probably wait a month though, to let the price settle down.

So, who's excited about the big launch today? The event is in London, 3/5/2012, 7pm GMT...search google for "Samsung Unpacked".
There's even a special app for streaming the event
Now that's what I call promotion with style...

I guess it will not be very outstanding looking. Nearly all smartphones look the same. If you see what samsung changed from the Tab 10.1 to their Tab 2 10.1 you know that the changes for the SIII will not be much. Sure the specs are way different, but the look I guess will not.

as I guessed tge design is nothing special! and speaking of it, who the hell want a 4,8"screen it its pocket? eure it is thinner than 9mm and as heavy as the MX, but it is sooooo huge. they were speking of the nature all presentation long and thatvthe whole SIII is designed by it. they even will spend 100USD for evety participant of the show to WWF. so why not making the phone with a wooden shell. i ones saw a thread here where the phone was mainly madecout of wood. if the SIII is designed through nature, the Nexus is too.
things which are really nice but have to prove theirselfs is the large battera with 2100mAh, the aircharger, the camera shutter withoit lag, the burst photos. i just spoke withbmy coworker why there is mainly no company which provides a charger without cables. so charging the phone without plugging it in. and a few ours later samsung makes our idea come true. impressive but long overdue. hopefully time will come fast in which you can charge all of your electronuc devices with one charger. a plate where you put your stuff on. almost forgot to mention the great function to make pictures during video capture.
The SIII will be released in Europe at the end of may, so I will be curious ehat the price will be. I guess it will be not under 600EURO
anyway, I enjoyed the UNPACKINGLast edited by iceman#1; 3 Weeks Ago at 06:26 AM.

The software is pretty good though, especially SmartStay and S Voice

At this point I am not overly impressed with the S III. I am looking forward to a more indepth review on it. Some of the software things are neat but the design is worst then the S II. Not to sure if I will get one or go with a Galaxy Nexus that is now $399 straight from Google.
