Interesting specs I noted during the presentation (doesn't include official specs I posted above):
Phone body
- HyperSkin backing (slip resistant backing, 'feels nice rather than plasticy')
- 4mm bezel on each side
Display:
- 100000:1 contrast ratio
- 0.01ms response time (wow)
Camera:
- Zero shutter lag
- Fast camera start up + quick one-click sharing to social networks
- Slide to zoom
- Inbuilt photo editor ("hipster filters" LOL)
- album is tiled (bit like WP7 tiles)
- sort by people, geotag in album
- very simple single-motion panorama mode
Video:
- 1080p
- continuous focus
- zoom whilst recording
- time lapse mode (nice!)
ICS:
- Drag apps on top of each other = insta-folders
- On-screen buttons hide dynamically
- Honeycomb style widgets
- Resizable widgets
- Task manager - flick to side to kill
- Notifications - flick to side to kill
- Realtime talk-to-text feature (nice!)
- Face recognition unlock! (lol, demo failed!)
- new 'action bar' design pattern for devs
- Swipe to change activity
Chrome browser:
- Tabbed browsing - flick to side to kill
- Bookmarks auto-synced to Chrome on Desktop
- Incognito mode
- 'saved pages' mode (to store pages for later retrieval)
GMail app:
- can search last 30 days of e-mail offline
Data usage:
- inbuilt data usage stats (can set warning levels and limits, can stop apps accessing data unless explicitly opened)
People app:
- replacement for 'contacts'
- photo grid style ("magazine style")
- "people cards" with all their details in a pretty page
- system-wide "contact cards" which allow quick access to peoples contact details (show up in apps like GMail)
Phone app:
- magazine style, again
- pretty voice mail page for playback (with fast forward mode for people that can't get to the point, LOL)
NFC sharing "Android Beam":
- touch phones together -> insta-sharing
- works in app, and sends other phone to the app download page - NICE

I really want this phone. If only Meizu would release a vanilla ICS Rom for us M9 users

Thanked 14 Times in 10 PostsNot completely sold by the Galaxy Nexus, the curves might not work for me. But Ice Cream Sandwich on the Galaxy S II will be mental. The camera speed is being lauded rather than the picture quality for the Galaxy Nexus. (Engadget and Gizmodo). ICS vs iOS debates will rage on...

Thanked 46 Times in 41 PostsThe camera quality is fine. Quality journalists (i.e. not Engadget or Gizmodo) are saying the camera is good. 'This Is My Next' did a comparison.

10-19-2011 #27Where do think all the "quality journalists" writing for This Is My Next came from?Quality journalists (i.e. not Engadget or Gizmodo) are saying the camera is good. 'This Is My Next' did a comparison.

Thanked 24 Times in 15 PostsThis is my next uses the engadget camera shots, or vice-versa
However, the 5MP on the Nexus seems to take better pictures than the iPhone which was oh-so-lauded for its "great" camera

Thanked 14 Times in 10 PostsFinally got my hands on one! Found a great little shop in Macau. I got to have a brief look at the iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Galaxy S II and the Samsung Galaxy Note. They were very kind. The design of the Nexus is so incredible, and it should be seen how cool it looks when the screen is off. With no buttons, it's just a clean black slate. I would buy this on the spot but for one thing: the camera is indeed below par. Is was trumped by the Galaxy S II, the Note and the iPhone 4S. Zero shutter lag is not worth it if the quality of the photos is not great. Didn't get to test much of Ice Cream Sandwich, i'll have a look at that tomorrow. Siri works well, the only question it did not understand was "What is the value of Avogadro's constant?"

Thanked 46 Times in 41 PostsThe camera is still pretty good. It's not the best on the market but it does the job well.

Thanked 14 Times in 10 PostsI know that, but a great camera is one of the things that draws me to phones, I would use it a lot. That was an incredibly defensive post by the way. I honestly don't see why they couldn't have put a better camera in there. Because it would raise the price even further? Maybe...

In other news, Adobe have now relented and released Flash Player for ICS - which is nice!
