Clix2
I've just discovered the new iRiver Clix2, a friend of mine bought it in Japan. It's amazing, so much better than the MiniPlayer ! It looks very nice, with serious manufacture. The "click system" is instictive and so easy to use. And the screen (a little bit smaller than M6 one) is really fantastic: great definition, large viewing angles without light reflection (it's an Amoled screen (?)). It has a Flash UI, SRS WOW, 4 or 5 flash games and the framerate for videos is 30 fps ! Desolate but, when it will be available in Europe, i think i will sell my MiniPlayer and buy the Clix2 ! The price should be higher than M6 one, but too bad...

just remember the price for a 4 gb clix2 is $200 usd and a meizu 4gb m-6 is around $120 usd (i paid $100 new in box) is it really worth the extra money????
i purchased the the clix 1st gerneration 4gb several months ago and sent back since the video software would never work properly...i still think they have this problem according to what i ve read about the x20.
the clix controls are very good and so is sound but i dont think it was that much different than the meizu. (i like touch sensitive controls)
remember its twice the price---

The Clix 2 is actually just called "clix" in Korea. clix is a second generation product from iriver, whilst the M6 is a first generation product of this kind from Meizu. The comparison isn't really fair.
When comparing the first generation clix with the M6, the only reason to go either way is because of brand, style and/or price. They are two very similar players, and I've read that they even use the same hardware.
With that said, the second generation clix looks really good and does have a great firmware, and the new screen works very well under bright circumstances.
But in the end, MP3 players' prime function is to serve music, and the M6 does this well. The M6 beats the clix price hands down. And also, afaik there are no 8GB clix yet.

I see your point. But how about this. If me and my grandfather were alive at the same time, could we compete who'd win a marathon? Is it fair or even ethical?

You're also right, I guess it depends how you categorize. Because cars aren't MP3 players, the Meizu brand isn't the iriver brand, M6 isn't Clix2.
Then, just like people and products, they can't be compared. :P
Ok, I'm stretching it a bit. Clix2 seems like a good player. But I don't see anything too special to justify the almost double price.
But you've already bought a M6. Why not just enjoy it and be happy with what you've got? Just like new Fords and VWs with new features are constantly released into the market, there's always gonna be bigger (and perhaps smaller) and better players, that's a fact of life. Also, the M6 is very versatile, allowing for full-firmware skinning.
Finally, how much are you going to sell your M6 for? eBay sellers have not only ruined Meizu's business, but also significantly lowered the second-hand value for Meizu players for all Meizu's customers.

xx-c , You buy your Clix , But this is a meizu forum , nice to hear about other players on the market , If you add it up say you have $500
$500 - Pocket
-$100 = Meizu
$400 = left
+$60 = sold Meizu
$440 = left
-$200 = Clix
$240
If you work the numbers out your paying $240 in reality for your clix
this means you could get a 30 gb ipod video instead or 2 Meizu M6 + alot of acsessories or you could go into the $1 shop , and buy out all their stock , its up to you , but if youd rather have the clix fine by you , Im not critisizing your decision , im suggesting the fact that one alternative is not as good as another.
Personally if i could choose ofver a Meizu and a Clix , the meizu would win even if it were the same price.
Thats just my opinion.

I have 5 friends who have a clix, and I'm the only one with a M6. Seriously, the clix is not that great.
You can't skin it, it has a smaller screen, fingerprint magnet, too thick and fat, and the entire system lags when you place a really nice background on it.
However, I like the way the hold button works (physically locks the top plate down so you cannot press buttons), and I like how you can download and install flash games - something that I guess Meizu might work on! Oh, and you can also orientate the screen to landscape or portrait :D

You can't compare the players since they are a totally different class. Or would you compare a No-name(Meizu is still a pretty unkwown brand, I guess I am the only person in my area who ever heard of it) branded LCD-TV you pay about 600 Euros for and a TV of a well known brand for 1.000? That's simply nonsense.

The beauty with the M6 is that it definitely can be compared to its more expensive competitors.

I cant, think of it this way, currently with your player right now how much of the time do you look at the player compared to the time you spend listening to it, Now im all for touch pad and what not but think about it. to change a song you have to take out your player everytime, i do like the sd slot and whatnot but the touch screen just isnt for me

I am not a fan of the actual click portion of the clix. I think it is an interesting idea, but not something I am interested in. 30 FPS playback is nice, but considering how I encode my video (15fps mono for most things) it would be a moot point. The flash games are the thing that I like the most to be honest. I still think simple games on DAP's will become big. I know cellphones can do it too, but my cellphones screen and general operation are shit compared to something like the Meizu. I also don't see my cellphone as an entertainment device, and have yet to find a phone that tries to be an entertainment device that I like.
The fact I got my Meizu for 99 dollars is a pretty huge plus to be honest.

Come now man, are you looking for style or quality?
If you're looking for style I'll stop there.
If you're looking for quality, everyone here would probably agree with me when I say the M6's sound quality owns IRiver.
I myself am a user of IRiver right now (lost my M3) and the sound quality is now where near as good as my good old M3

Bass freaks should know that quality does not get any higher than Meizu. I should know, cos thats why I bought my IRiver E10 in the first place, sound quality is great and all, but yea, I still feel my old M3 is way better.:D
