Travelling to China, need help with a question I have

I will be in Beijing & Shanghai this month. The one think I need to figure out is what kind of plug adapter I need. I don't need a power converter, just the plug adapter. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any solid information on just what kind of adapter will work. Can any one point me to something that is *KNOWN* to work in these two cities.

if you are taking something from the US, you should be fine. if it plugs-in in the US, it will plug-in in china, with the possibly exception of polarized prongs. i've found that most of the time you can force them in past the plastic hole if you angle the prongs and wiggle around a bit.

you don't need to convert power (is there even such a thing? gears?), but be sure your device/transformer will accept 220-240V, which is different from the 110V in the US.

Thanks, the only thing I need to plug in is my laptop, and the power supply is marked to accept 220v@50hz, so I'm good there. But it is a grounded three prong plug.

You won't get a three pronged grounded cord in any wall outlets here, but powerstrips you will. You can get a three prong to two prong adapter at most hardware stores for less than a buck or two. Enjoy!

There sure is... I have a power converter from 220 to 110
Most of the world is on 220 but the US is still on 110 so US appliances will need them now and then

When I was in the US I bought an electric toothbrush that just worked with 110 so I got a converter to use it in Europe

They are heavy bricks that aren't very handy for traveling. so that's not recommended
