PS3 or Wii??

This is not a post to compare the two. There's no good reason to compare them. I'm just curious if anyone here got there hands on either of these systems?

I personally am waiting until mid 2007 for the PS3. I tried to get a Wii on Sunday, but I had no idea how much demand there would be, and ended up driving from one place to another, only to see lines and lines and lines.

Gonna try to snag a Wii this Sunday - I hear Best Buys and Targets will release another small wave on Sunday.

I'm not that worried about either Xbox 360 or PS3, they just seem to be the same consols as Xbox and PS2 but with far better graphics and sound capabilities.

I've never been one to look for these over gameplay.

Historically Nintendo really relied on one or two titles and there wasn't much else that was decent. However the Wii looks like it is focused purely on gameplay.

Soooo, in conclusion, I'm hoping to get a Wii, looking forward to excellent gameplay and lots of jumping arund with the controller.

I don't know anyone who has one yet, but it's the only new console that really excites me.

I'm totally holding out and waiting for the Wii (but the lines are crazy now & today is Dec 2nd!!! release date in Japan). I want it's interactive cool games, and the numchuk (ahh reminds me of duck hunt). After the Tokyo Game Show, the Nintendo DS Lite was sold out for months, I went to 8 shops, and no one had one.

I don't need all the cool functionalities of the PS3. I travel a lot and the new PS3 is pretty bulky (and if they update DDR I may get it ). It looks like a scanner machine, maybe if they shrink it I'll get one.
But my friends are going to buy both (They already have an XBox 360).

Guys... i live in costa rica, but i might think im the luckiest guy. I just got my wii on Dec 2nd!, I bought it off ebay (getting a great price! 350$ with shipping and insurance, with duties and stuff $420 :D) monday 20th, one day after released on US.... Finally is here ... i've waited like insane for it to arrive.

Here for some weird reasons resellers think they must get 100%+ profit... for instance, the only store will sell wiis here said they're gonna be in 320.000 colones (320.000 colones = $640) for the console only!!!!

So, at the end i got it 200 bucks cheaper than i can get get it here :D.

The Wii is totally awsome, its true, graphics are not as in PS3 or Xbox, but you can have alot of fun using it, in fact graphics had a good improvement, compared with GameCube and N64. I played for about 4 hours and it's totally amazing, there's so much fun with wii sports (i just ordered zelda... i'll have it soon as well as red steel), being honest, i thought people moving like idiots to present the console was just that... idiots... but no! you really have to move yourself if you want your Mii moving correctly.

The PS 3 could be the console to hold out for for the following reason.The Blueray drive thats inside.I often wondered if you would be able to tell the difference between that and normal DVD.and after seeing Ice AGE 2 on blueray for the first time Saturday all i can say is FANTASTIC......the down side Blueray is new, the player cost 1499 euros.PS 3 costs 599 0r 699 euros on release depending on which version you get.remember when the PS 2 came out DVD had just came out and now you can get a DVD for under 30 euros.

i think i'm gonna wait for the ps3, which has not yet been released here in France... but at least i've got time to save some money till it comes out

Wii all the way. I stayed up at Target all night the night of the release to get one, but could not play it till x-mas. The game play is amazing. The motion sensor is very accurate with your movements. I got the LOZ Twilight Princess game AND IT IS AWESOME!!! Stayed up all last night cutting up (and ripping up in wolf from) shadow creatures

same here i got a Wii in December, but also plan to buy a PS3 but later on possibly late late 2007 or early 2008.

Wii is best in this console war. It's not about the power or graphics anymore. Wii rox.

cmon guys... the famous 'console war' has no sense to exist...they are all too different... and there are too many factors to consider.

my job is videogames involved, and in my opinion, at the moment (i mean exactly today) the best console to buy is x360.

Of course you need to have an hd tv, otherwise the only choice is Wii (well if you are in Europe and you don't have an HD, buy DS :P )
