I'm about to renew my contract and think about to buy the Acer Liquid. What's your opinion ?

Interessting phone, nice hardware, but I don´t understand, why they release it with Andr.1.6 ?!...or is it possible to upgrade (like we do with Meizu) to 2.1, when realeased soon?

Acer said there will be a upgrade in early 2010

...so, it´s not like you can take the 2.0 and just upgrade it..you need a kind of Acer_boot_upgrade_version ? - that´s a pitty...

dunno... the phone is brand new and not even in the amazon.de shop... time will tell what is possible

..what I don´t like, that there is still no skype possible with this phone, and no flash for the camera..so, i m more intersted for HTC HD2 LEO ... but a little bit expensive

looks good i like the design

but no flash for the camera is one of the disadvantage i don't like on the M8 too.

Yes, but since 5mp on a mobile phone is not the same as on a digital camera you really do not need to worry about the flash.
It provides not advantage, thrust me.

why they release it with Andr.1.6

well that is because the 2.0 and 2.1 source was not available at the moment they build/released the device and like Skoddi mentions most manufactures plan to release upgrades in Q1 from 2010.
If they don´t there is no worries since the source is freely available and mostlikely a fan with the right skills could easily build a custom rom to upgrade it to 2.1..

..that´s strange...well, I see a call from skype on this phone..it seems to work!
But, i mean, I never tried it myself, have no android phone, but I read in all the forums and user experiences, that everybody laughs at this skype version, that still not a "real-one", the calling does not really work...but I don´t know...things are changing very fast those days if it runs, as seen on the video, that´s great!!!!!!

yeah ^^ when i get it i will post a short review... meizu was fun to play with but it's time again for a real phone

just ordered a motorola milestone/droid

^^" i really liked the fast cpu of the liquid but in the end i heard it feels like plastic etc and the keyboard from the motorola is better for emulators XD

Well, that´s a "Men's Phone" ...and surely the keyboard has its advantages, if you need it.

yeah i like the design of the motorola and i think its funny that so many people call it ugly ^^"

Got the milestone and its great ! Everything is fast and apps and games are THE things what meizu lacks most. Will write a longer review after a few days of usage now my mother will use my meizu she needs only a phone with basic funktions *gg*

Hardware:

-great quality for a slider phone ! No annoying noises when you squeeze the phone and the slider is solid
-cam take good pictures
-its "heavy" but i like it; it doesn't feel like a toy and more expensive
-feels great; the battery cover feels like its covered with a thin layer of rubber
-display is great; responsive and precise
- build in loudspeaker is a little bit quieter than the meizu but sound very good
-great mic; because of crystal-talk you can speak when loud music (or other noises) is playing and the person on the other side hears you and not the music (we wanted to play the song "i just called to say i love u" after we called a friend but he only heard us )
- keyboard is great ! looks small at first but works perfect
-built in gps with a-gps
-battery lasts hmm 1,5 -2 days - im always on,music,browser,games
- touch buttons are responsive but sometimes i hit them without intention
-the volume button wiggle little

software:

-Android 2.0; its fast and very good 4 multi tasking
-stock software mhm sux XD i like the meizu music player much more
- app market; everything u need but not so many "high quality" games like on iphone
- many apps,widgets etc
- many options to share your pics (myspace,facebook,picasa etc) + only few "klicks" needed
- only 3 Homescreens
