Was it really necessary to post a new thread about that?

I'm sorry; I fail to find much about it.

The M3 production mostly stopped because (I want to say Samsung?) stopped making a specific type of LCD screen. It's the same one used in the first gen iPod nanos.

There's no use complaining; I know. Meizu used to maintain firmware at the same version level on the M6 and M3.

I suppose (judging by the greater activity in the M6 forums) the M3 did not have a comparable following. Maybe that's the reason Meizu made the business decision to stop development for the M3.

Yet my M3 is only 18 months old. Well, so much for customer loyalty. It works both ways.

The screen was from AU Optronics and, yeah, they basically cut off Meizu. Jack Wong said that they asked Toshiba again (apparently Toshiba was going to be the original supplier), but no go...and with the M8 in the pipeline and the steady sales of the M6, they just decided to retire the M3.

Great observation! Now how does that justify bumping up a 3 month old thread?
