Question FM radio through updated firmware?

    Hi,

I have been told that the European version of the Meizu M3 player does not have a FM radio receiver, but that it can be added by installing an updated firmware.

Can someone please confirm that this is correct?

    TIA!

I've read that in Europe to use FM radio in a portable device pays extra tax, due to this the feature is removed from firmware by the sellers of rebranded Meizu players like Dane-Elec. This means that FM radio is physically installed but not functional due to this crippling of firmware.

For those user it's just needed to install official Meizu firmware from here and magically will appear FM radio.

In case of M3 there is no risk on this as M3 (Music Card) has only one version of firmware.
For M6 users it's necessary to pick the apropriate firmware (S o T) to make FM radio appear.

yeah, 10% import tax on radio enabled devices (rediculous).
Dane-elec was smart on this one
