    MP3 Bit Rate info

I have a M3 since few days and i noticed that the bit rate info for MP3s is not correct most of the time (says 96kbps instead of 192kbps) for instance. Did you observe the same? Could it come from some bad interpretation of VBR MP3s for instance?

    thx

Yes it is a problem with VBR. My guess (which is what many, many portable mp3 players do) is to calculate the displayed the bit rate based on the first data frame. Because this frame will (in nearly all tracks) contain silence, it will be a very low value.
It would take quite a bit more processor usage to display an updated bitrate on every frame.
