    Can firmware be downgraded?

My M3 is at 2.003.3 since I got it a few days ago.

I was wondering if I should upgrade to the latest firmware? If a later firmware causes problems, can it be downgraded again?

The difference between 2.003.3 & 2.003.4 seem to be only cosmetic text string changes, but yes it is possible to downgrade.

    I have upgraded now... successfully.

The upgrade procedure is "undocumented". I had to guess my way through it.

    1. I cannot see a link to the M3 firmware on the Meizu site.
    2. I copied both files (from forum link here) to the root directory.
    3. Restarted the M3
    4. Screen appeared saying something like "Upgrading Firmware.... Please Wait"
    5. Screen went black / blank..... Now what?
    6. I switched it on again.
    7. Screen appeared saying "Upgrading Resource..... Please Wait".
    8. Unit then began a filesystem update.
    9. I was left with the M3 using Chinese language.
    10. I had to guess my way through the menus to find the language settings.

Luckily I came through it OK.

Borat, glad to hear everything turned out OK.

Somewhere on this forum (possible FAQ section) it explains how to update firmware and how to switch to English (go to bottom and select, this is Settings, then go to like third from the bottom, this is Language).

I must admit, I was really apprehensive about doing this, as I have read so many horror stories in the M6 forum re firmware upgrades. Also I have gathered that Meizu are apparently no longer responding to forum requests for help over at http://en.meizu.com/ (forums)

Kinda makes one wonder about the future of Meizu and their products. Shame really, as I think the M3 is great.
